I sigh, “fair enough. Just remember if an egg is conceived, the form becomes locked and no bounty can be collected I’d expect.”

I debate for a moment on whether to head directly to our harnesses or not, but decide there is no benefit to trying to hide our destination, as I can move just as fast as he can, if not somewhat faster. But in the battle I’d gotten a little turned around so I sniff at the ground a moment before finding the right path of where Maria came down and start heading back up the hill. After a moment I hear Lumen shouting at me.

“I will prove myself to you one day, just you wait.”

I turn and see the pair of them waving us off. I don’t respond, but wave a few of my tails as a farewell back at him and Maria half turns to wave as well. First priority after getting to our gear would probably be to treat our wounds a bit. They may be a bit costly to him but considering the alternative I doubt he’d mind the expense, and Lumen is correct. Right now we’re not in any condition to be able to take on any other challenges. If another trainer shows up and demands we fight them we might not be so lucky.
