Print - Sea Raven

Linoleum print of a favorite species of mine, Hemitripterus americanus, or the Sea Raven.
Often regarded as a 'trash fish' in fishing circles, the Sea Raven is nevertheless still an important member of its ecosystem, and beautiful irregardless.

That is so cool! You did such an amazing job with it! How long did it take you to make?

Ooh - hard to remember, actually! The linoleum carving process took about 6-8 hours, and then the inking and multiple prints I made to get the best of them all may have taken me around 5-8 hours outside of the lino carving. Overall quite a spot of time but definitely worth it! Thanks very much : )

Well the time you spent on it was definitely well worth it! It looks beautiful! Have you done many other linoleum prints?

To be honest, no - apart from some experimenting with the materials and a different print required for the class, this is it! XP Thank you very kindly. : )

I cannot even begin to express my respect for the way you did this print. I only wish I'd seen it when I was doing lino cuts for school, so I could take inspiration from your techniques (with your permission, of course.)

Oh, inspiration needs no permission, at least I think. I am very thankful for your reply - I am glad you like it so! : )
