For some reason the scan turned out awfully pale for this image, but I guess it serves its purpose.
This is the first of two images I was commissioned to do by the Director of Education at the Jackson Lab in Maine for an outreach program based around genetics. These are illustrations for presentations to show students, and this one depicts a dragon and a researcher discussing some topic, most likely relating to their subject of study, the small dragon/drake hovering around the dragon's head.
It seems that I may have more work from this client - exciting stuff!
Materials: This is a combination of Prismacolor markers and Prismacolor colored pencils - the pencils were used over the layered marker color for detail.
Size: 11 x 14 inches

Hmm, that's a pretty neat project. Looks great, I love the dragon's design. As usual your anatomy is fantastic.

Aww that's really cool that you got commissioned for such pieces! You can really tell that the dragon is communicating there with how he/she is holding his paw and the rest of its body language =)

The solidness of the dragon's body and the easy mood in the poses are just plain cool. XD
