A Few Changes Around Here, Phase 1 - 58
As recently as last page, my plan for this page was to parallel #25 with a massive crowd shot of people talking over each other outside the building, until the police chief silences them and takes control. The main problems with this were that (1) it wasn't interesting; (2) it wasn't funny; (3) it would've been a pain to draw; and (4) it was currently a pain to write.
So I scrapped it and made this page instead. It's nice to step away from all the deceit and trickery and subterfuge, and just write two friends trying to out-tease each other.

This is easily my favorite page of this story that you've done in a while. Seeing the furry guy having a blast and trying to convince his differently opinionated coworker to join in the fun is hilarious and rather wholesome! Of course, it helps that ocelots and patagonian maras are quite adorable!
I'm sure he'll notice when the caffeine hits him about ten times harder than expected. (Apparently he'll also notice he can't taste sugar anymore. Thanks, Wikipedia.)

Oh I figured it wasn't for the coffee, but with this sort of stuff it's always interesting to find out how far on the scale things are. They can clearly talk and obviously still have their human minds. They can emote in human ways too, so it's not past the realm of possibility that they might retain other human traits too (like being able to taste sugar when a 'normal' member of the species couldn't or being able to eat or drink things that'd be dangerous/deadly for their species).
