I let Maria open the door for us again due to the fact I have no thumbs anymore and it’s kind of high for any of us to reach normally. We all then step outside and take a moment to get used to the cold as Maria closes the door again. All things considered bringing Benny is an extra risk. Lumen had said it was quite easy to figure out what I was by simply paying attention to a few key details. And he never alluded to Maria being the same way, meaning it was quite clear to him that she does not share my condition. And just Maria alone could likely point anyone curious to my real identity. There are few pokemon that are on her caliber in the area, and she is quite likely the only meowstic anywhere within a day’s drive from here at her level. Bringing Benny would be bringing another champion level pokemon from my team. Anyone could simply see us and look up who has a high level meowstic and mawile and find me.

But I don’t think that should be too much of an issue anymore. There’s been no sense of animosity to him from any source. No one has attempted to hunt us down. We’re kind of just allowed to do our own thing on the full moon nights, with the occasional wild pokemon feeling the need to pick a fight here and there. If anything there seems to be more people lately on the nights of a full moon, in spite of the cold, than any other night. It’s as if people felt safer being outside when it was a full moon. I heard when they pushed back what we’re doing tonight due to weather, they actually deliberately set it to take place on the full moon rather than the next available day. Which I appreciate since it means I can go. But I imagine a lot has to do with crime being down. Team Rocket and other bandits tend to get rather skittish when I’m around. Thankfully, no more fights. They just see Maria and me and then run. Some people I don’t even think are doing anything wrong see me and run. So some must have some sort of fear of me. The rest just seem to wave and go about their nights.
