This reminds me of that very old Story/Series "Dragonlance", when the assorted group is first introduced. One of the key members is a Kender, Named 'Tass' (Tasslehoff Burrfoot, if memory serves?). His entire Race (think Robber Hobbits, and you're on the right track), have a history of 'Finding' people's belongings.

One of the things this Story and IRL taught me- Never dismiss at face value, the potential of others. Sure, you need to be aware and if necessary, 'On guard,' but don't just slap a broad brush of slander/malignment.

You are correct, my friend. Tasselhoff Burrfoot, but was only Tass to his friends. He found things the people happened to 'misplace', but it was never with ill intent. They just happened to fall into his pockets somehow.

I always adored him, esp. as the series progressed. A constant pain-in-the-tush to many, but he never wavered or failed his friends in a pinch!

I agree some of those people probably trained there whole lives, fought and got hurt and healed fighting chaos, and out of no where there goddess choose her adopted daughter, a healer whose colorblindness makes her make poisons instead of healing potions and salves, a mindless drone with anger issues, a creature only seen in jail, and now someone who hates Luna seeing her as the scorce of his suffering.

There are Tropes for a situation like this, especially Famous or Not-so-known Literary Tropes that would fit well for a Zummeng Story that would go in a Different Direction.

It would be interesting to see how things can be triggered to reject Being a Knight, I mean from what I understand, everyone seems to accept the title of Knight of Life and with what this Task entails
but no one seems to reject her ',:T

Refusal Of The Call is a perfect Trope to start the Conflict of Ideas or to start breaking the Pattern

How to start doubting, doubting the truth, generating many doubts and personal questions if it really is a true Task?, or just a way to go to Battle to die but Glorified?

thus reaching the other Trope Didn't Want an Adventure, for those who are not interested in the Adventure and only want to do their Normal activities even if it implies the Possible Suffering of Others but it is better so to Push Yourself so much to such a Point of Corruption touching the Trope like this The Poorly Chosen One, a Chosen One who Failed in his Task because the Pressure was against him or he Corrupted to such an Point of being what he swore to destroy, being that other perfect example to Increase the Doubts and being the Bait for the Gods to doubt their Tasks and how people lose their confidence more

And from what is seen in the last panel, now it's Nigel's turn to receive his nomination, which is going to cause the crowd to completely lose their minds, plus the reaction of the rest of the new knights; I'm already very curious about what's going to happen on the next page. XD

Honestly, I picture Nigel denying the scarf, after everything that has happend to him.
