This book completes the trilogy about Chakona, its inhabitants, the interaction of the chakats with some humans, skunktaurs and other races, such as the renzar and the rakshanis. All framed within the universe created by  Goldfur It's been almost two years of continuous work and it's fair to mention such important people  sethtriggs  Marksan  Wolfbane115 and all the people from Tales de Chakona Discord for fans.

CHAPTER 2


"Are you going to stay long at Amistad Cyfur?" Lorna asked with a smile.
"Only a few days" The chakat answered.
"There is a hotel in front of the Topacio beach, where I stayed when I arrived in Chakona. The prices are good and the attention is excellent. In addition, the subway station is close. I will give you the location if you want" Esteban added.
"Thank you. You are very kind. I imagine you are from Amistad"
"I live with my family here. Esteban arrived a year ago from Earth. We both met while doing a post-degree in Dewclaw" Lorna answered wagging hir tail. "And now we'll have a job interview"
"Wow. I wish you both the best of luck."
"Thank you Cyfur. Lorna, it's time to go" Esteban said looking at his watch.
"It's true. It was a pleasure to meet you Cyfur. I hope to see you again one day"
"The pleasure was mine guys" The chakat answered with a smile.
"If you stay at that hotel, ask for Chakat Blukast, shi will serve you very well" Esteban said before leaving.
"Tail High!"
"Tail High!" Cyfur responded with a smile as shi finished hir cup of coffee.
Esteban and Lorna immediately headed for building 111. Upon arrival and registering at the entrance, a chakat told them to go up to the third floor in the elevator. Boarding it, they proceeded down a wide corridor to the door of a medium-sized office. Once there, they both looked at each other.
"Well, the time has come" Esteban said.
"You go in first, Lorna. I'll go later" He added..
"As you wish. But stay still Esteban. I don't want you to suffer another accident"
"Lorna! Please!"
"Okay, okay... Wish me luck" The chakat said quickly. Esteban approached Shi and kissed hir forehead.
"Good luck, Lorna." However, shi suddenly took the boy's head in hir hands and kissed him on the mouth"
"That's how you give Natany luck, right?" shi declared, then walked into the office with hir tail held high. Esteban couldn't help but blush and smile. Lorna was a very determined Chakat, the boy thought.
Several minutes passed. Esteban calmly waited for his turn sitting outside in a comfortable armchair in the hall. From time to time, local workers passed by who greeted him politely. Suddenly, his PADD began to sound.
"Esteban? I am Chakat Blackspots"
"Lieutenant Blackspots, what a surprise" The boy exclaimed when he saw the uniformed official of the Federation on the screen.
"I hope you are well. I'm calling because there is someone who wants to see you in person"
"Me? Who is it?"
"Brand Skunktaur, the skunk that got you out of the hospital when you were in the hospital"
"Seriously. I could never thank him for what hy did for me"
"Well, now you'll have a chance. Do you have time?"
"I'm about to enter a job interview. As soon as I can, I'll let you know"
"Excellent. We're in touch. Tail High!"
"Thank you very much, Lieutenant. Tail High!" Esteban replied, excited to meet the mysterious skunk savior of him.
After about half an hour, Chakat Lorna walked out of the interview. With a smile from ear to ear, she announced that she had been accepted, which made Esteban very happy.
"Congratulations Lorna!"
"Meowwww!! Thank you... Exclaimed the happy chakat. "Now it's your turn Esteban! Good luck!"
"Alright here I go" The human said before entering. Once inside, he saw that there was a large round table. On the opposite side sat an old male-phase Skunktaur. Alongside him were two chakats, a morph cat, and a voxxan. Esteban recognized that one of the chakat was Serenity, smiling at her. Shi was happy that he accepted Esteban's request to work at Special Instrumentation.
"Welcome, Esteban. I'm glad you were able to attend. Please have a seat." Shi said pointing to a free seat at the round table.
"Thank you... Ehh... Hello everyone. I hope you have a good day today. I know you all know my background. But I'll introduce myself anyway. My name is Esteban Sivem. I'm a Computer Engineering graduate from the Universidad de Santiago del Nuevo Extremo, Earth. And I just finished a graduate degree here in Dewclaw. I'm 28 Earth years old and I'd like to work here.
"Greetings, Mr. Sivem. I am Valardiz of House Blackpaw, head of all Ess-Eye (SI) operations with test wing forty-two. With me is Chakat Serenity of Orion Ess-Eye, Chakat Poppyfield of the twelfth Ess-Eye Squadron." Flight Test, El'Narack of the 216 Flight Test Squadron and Henry Maynard of the 207 Operations Command." The old skunktaur said suddenly, introducing each member of the commission. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Then, Valardiz beckoning to Serenity, declared: "Serenity, since it was you who wanted him with us, you can start."

"Thank you, Ardy. Mr. Sivem, can I call you Esteban?"

"Of course Shir"
The chakat smiles and gives him a little wink. "Esteban, I've read your background a lot. I really like what I see in terms of your abilities. However, that's just a small part of the whole person. We have a few questions to ask you to get a sense of your personality. I want to know. Esteban, how do you deal with the stress of a job?”
“Hmmm. I keep calm to focus on the immediate solution of a problem. And once I have a plan in mind, I execute it quickly, if necessary. But above all, safely. I try not to improvise, to minimize the possibility of making mistakes in the process. Because of... My life experience, well... I learned to manage stress since I was little, Shir.”
"Just tell me Serenity Esteban. Hmmm... I would say that planning your solutions is a very good first step. Fortunately for you, improvisation is not necessary for most of our work. And I completely understand that. I am very happy to your recovery from the misfortunes you experienced. Travis is delighted to see you alive and well." Serenity mentioned with a nod. Poppyfield spoke next.

"Yes, we all heard what happened. Please accept our congratulations on your full recovery. As for my question: What are the skills that you think make a great leader?”
Before the question, Esteban answered. "Well... Honestly, I've always thought that a great leader... Isn't the one who has the best ideas or is the most intelligent. For me... A great leader is one who knows how to motivate his team and is able to get the best of each one, in pursuit of a common goal. A great leader accompanies, listens, advises and directs by example.” He answered, while the image of his dear friend Vroeg appeared in his mind.
Poppyfield, pleased with the answer, made a note in a small notebook she had with her. The others also seemed to like what the human said. Then Valardiz motioned for Henry to speak.

"Mr. Sivem, you know that working for us will mean receiving and maintaining a security clearance, correct? You will be using classified information and materials. Do you think you can perform your job in such an environment?"
"I have no problem with that, sir. I accept the rules, like any worker."
Henry nodded and turned to the last member. El' Narack had an almost permanent scowl on his muzzle, but there was no hostility in him.
"Child, you will be working on starships. Operations are no joke. Safety is our top priority. Do you think you can stay calm under pressure?"

"Oh, take it easy on him, El' Narack. We haven't had an accident in years." Henry said.

"That doesn't mean we should let our guard down. Remember what happened in Orion when the coolant line blew? We were lucky Archer was there to help."

Serenity fretted a bit at that memory. A slight grimace indicated that shi did not want to remember those bad days.

"Enough, you two, El'Narack, Henry! Safety and security are our top priorities, Mr. Esteban. We expect you to follow the rules and procedures for your own well-being" Valardiz suddenly intervened. Esteban thought for a moment in silence before answering.
"Shir, I understand your concern. I've been on the verge of death on more than one occasion. And believe me. I know better than anyone how to appreciate the value of life. It's true, I've never worked inside a spaceship. And I know that the systems they are more complex there. But I will do my best to live up to those who work there. I will learn everything I need and I will try to work with the utmost rigor while respecting the protocols. Especially if the lives of others depend of that"
El' Narack narrows his eyes slightly before leaning back and nodding at Valardiz.

"I think it will do."
Valardiz also nods. Look at the others to see if there was anything else to mention. Serenity nodded before turning to Esteban. Her smile was wide and full of pride.
"Esteban, I really appreciate you coming to talk to us. I think you'll be a good addition to our team. Welcome aboard." Shi said approaching Esteban stretching out his hand..
At that moment, the boy felt a great relief. He stood up and walked over to Serenity, shaking hir hand.
"Thank you very much Serenity. Thank you all"
The chakat, smiling mischievously, whispered in his ear. "Travis will be happy to hear you got the job." And then give him a warm hug.
"Please give my regards to Mr. Travis. I'll visit them as soon as I can." Esteban replied with a smile.
Leaving, Lorna was waiting sitting on a sofa outside. "How did it go, Esteban?" Shi asked him anxiously.
"I was accepted".
"Meowoooo! What a joy!" shi exclaimed, placing another kiss on his mouth, wagging hir tail. "We'll be co-workers, just like Jhonny and Vera!" shi added.
"I will tell Lilethe and my family. They will be very happy"
"Yes. I already broke the good news to my parents" Lorna said. "We should celebrate this sometime!" Shi finished.

The day was ending and Chakastra was once again hiding behind the horizon. Lilethe, after a grueling first day of work with Sachi at the doctor's office, headed home. After saying goodbye to her colleagues, hy went to the small parking lot in search of her VTP. Great was hym joy when hy saw that Esteban was waiting for hym by the vehicle.
"My love! What a joy to see you!" Said the skunktaur pouncing on him. The human received hym with a hug and a long kiss on the mouth.
"How was your day?" the boy asked.
"This first day was hard, since we had to move around the city visiting patients. I'm a little tired. I can't wait to get home and eat Sorah's delicious food. And how did your interview go?"
"Very good, thank you. Lorna and I were accepted and started working immediately. The Orion colleagues are very supportive and helpful. Programming the main project will be our first task. We will team up with Lorna! We are both happy. I think We'll have all the work done in a couple of weeks. A fellow Rakshani is the third member of the group. We have high expectations" The human said with satisfaction.
"Wow, I'm so glad Esteban. Let's go home."
"Shall we pick up Doren at the bar?"
"Oh, don't worry. Hy called me earlier and told me that she was staying with Lorel tonight."
"Eh?... Con Lorel"
"Yes. Don't worry about hym. Let's go I'm starving my love" Lilethe said as they boarded the VTP to head home.
"After a half hour of travel, they finally arrived at the renzar's house. Little Hajo was the first to receive them, stretching his little arms from the ground next to his toys. Esteban could barely lift him, because the boy was getting heavier.
"Ouch! You're getting bigger and bigger Hajo" Said the human.
"Don't try too hard Esteban. We renzar grow fast" Sorah said with a smile coming from the kitchen. "Welcome home my children" she added, as she hugged each one.
"Thank you mama bear" Lilethe said. "Did you prepare that rich portion of fish?..."
"Of course dear. Take advantage of eating in peace before Regt's glutton comes home hehe hee"
"It's true. We'd better eat" Esteban said quickly, while he cleaned himself in the bathroom.
