TF drive page 14: The day I became a furry
Guest starring
Sereigon on FA; NezMog, Obv10usly, jgreymantle, and koda_wah on Twitter; as stand-ins for the people who were in the chat that day. Could I have tracked down the refsheets of the people who were there? Probably, but I thought that paying homage to my donors was more in the spirit of the TF drive.
Of course, I didn't just find the word in the Don Bluth forums, I tried many other queries like "forum for Disney AND Don Bluth", "forum for animated movies" or "forum for animal movies". It was quite a while before I noticed this one word I'd never heard before. If you heard of furries before you were 16, take a moment to count your blessings.
It took me about half an hour to understand what that first rule meant (I'd never heard of "action stars" before, or "actions" even!) though I do think the fact that my first interaction with the fandom being a hug says and awful, awful lot (especially when you consider that, just like with my first class, I was walking in on something I "wasn't supposed to"!)
This is an interesting point in the transformation: I'd always planned for the halfway point to be where complete fur cover occurred, as well as where height fell under the 1 meter / 3 feet mark. If there were more donations, apart from obvious body shape refinements, you'd start seeing a more mousey behavior out of me, as things like "ear muscles" start growing in.
This is another "free" page (the bar was, again, filled with an unrelated commission)

Sereg here, using second account now - Thanks for the cameo, they're all adorable <3
My own transition is a long one. As a teen I wrote in few text-RPG forums and the very first I joined was with regulars wolfs. I even did art for it. Those forums died after couple years, but through them I found deviantArt -> Furaffinity. I was a browser, and wasn't active yet, and I kinda forget all of it for awhile
Over decade later I just can't deny there's was and is re-ignited passion for the fandom. And being active just makes it so much better feeling like being part of the community
A warm thank you *and hug* for Frank been significant part of my journey going through my own transition with this story and making the first images of my fursona

Oh, for sure, the transition would continue for years. I wouldn't dare set foot in FA until college and wouldn't start identifying as a furry until grad school. On Google+, my "closeted denial" was almost comical.
It is therefore quite symbolic that the transformation didn't reach 100%, as it leaves this all implied!
I say this a lot, but I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say "glad to have you back!" *hug back*

I can say that I'm more glad to be back than I was ever before
I'm very jealous of the furries overseas that have much publically visible community with all the conventions and such. Than would have pushed me through this at much younger age. At least here furries have somewhat positive publicity and it's slowly getting more acceptanced, but I'm still getting more use to all of it
Both of us being well past the denial part for sure ^^

Such a cute little tie-in with the constellations by the looks of it. Sitekeeper must have been a player. Another furry hook that I completely missed as a teen.
Weirdly I have read lot of comics with antropomorphic animals, but it never clicked me as Furry content
