All framed within the universe created by  Goldfur It's been almost two years of continuous work and it's fair to mention such important people  sethtriggs  Marksan  Wolfbane115 and all the people from Tales de Chakona Discord for fans.

CHAPTER 45

A new day was born in the city of Amistad. Although the sky was still cloudy from the storm, the rain had lessened its intensity.

Regthar and Sorah, with their little son Hajo in their arms, quickly arrived at the Amistad hospital. A Chakat doctor met them at the entrance to the emergency room. Next to hyr, was the police officer Greden, the cougar morph.

"What are you saying doctor!" Regthar blurted out in surprise. The police officer approached them and declared.

"Official! That's absurd! Lilethe wouldn't be capable of irresponsibility like that, we know hym very well!" Sorah exclaimed in surprise.

"Ma'am, the analyzes we did on Lilethe are conclusive" The doctor declared in turn.

"And Esteban? Where is he… Wasn't he with hym?” Regthar asked.

“We haven't located Mr. Sivem yet…” Greden replied. At that moment, a call from the police station alerted the puma. He moved away from the renzar a bit to maintain the privacy of the contact. After he finished, the officer's facial expression changed completely.

"Er... Mr. Regthar, Mrs. Sorah... I'm sorry to inform you that... Esteban... Esteban was also in the vehicle... And... Right now, he... Is missing"

“Grr… Sort of gone!” Regthar inquired taking Greden's shoulders. At that moment, the Renzar's PADD rang.

"Regthar speaks"

“Regt here Trend”

“Trend! I'm with Sorah at the hospital. Lilethe is hurt… Where is Esteban?

"Friend. Calm down… Es…”

“Trend! By Grom, what happened to Esteban, where is he! She demanded to know the Renzar.

"No... We don't know, Regt... I guess Greden is with you"

That morning, daylight filtered through the windows of Bram's room, though Chakastra was shrouded in clouds. Both the skuktaur and the human had slept little due to the old skunk's sleeplessness. Ben had gotten up and changed his clothes. For hys part, Bram lay looking to the side in silence.

"This is Ben Zider speaking"

“This morning, a manually driven PTV overturned on a curve on the road that connects the center of the city with the northern sector. Preliminary reports indicate that the driver, a skunktaur nurse named Lilethe Sivem, was driving the vehicle while intoxicated. It is presumed that hys companion, a human engineer named Esteban, a worker on the Orion project, would have accidentally plunged into the sea, a product of the same condition. At this time, police personnel and rescuers from the coast guard are carrying out an intense search to find the whereabouts of the engineer, who is still missing."

"It can not be!" Sachi said watching the television. Her eyes filled with tears, unable to believe what he saw in the images. At Rena's house, the whole family found out what happened that morning. Holly covered hys mouth with hys hands, while Relia couldn't believe what had happened either. Rena immediately called Sorah, to show solidarity with the family.

At Lorel's house, Shi along with Liner and Gret were shocked.

In Eucla City, Jhonny and Vera had spent a nice night together at his mother's house. It was already lunch time and Don, the cook bear, had prepared a special menu.

"Hehe okay. I made this especially for you two. Enjoy it!" Said the hairy one, covered only by a kitchen apron. Jhonny and Vera looked at each other and smiled.

"Thank you very much Mr. Don" Vera said wagging her tail, while she was delighted with the pleasant smell of the food "

"Please daughter, don't call me sir... Just Don please!" the grizzly bear morph smiled. Everyone sat down at the table to enjoy the delicious lunch.

“Johnny, I hope you don't mind that Don is scantily clad today. As it is the weekend, it is a day off from the restaurant.” Sonia said with a smile.

"Eh... I don't mind Mrs. Markham heh heh, he looks very nice Mr. Don" Vera said with a giggle. At that moment, Jhonny's PADD began to play. When answering, the engineer realized that it was Lorna who was calling.

“Lorna! Nice to see you!”

“Johnny! Something terrible has happened!" The chakat immediately said. Vera, listening with her acute hearing, approached her partner.

"What... what happened Lorna!" Johnny inquired.

“Esteban and Lilethe had an accident on the road this morning. Lilethe is unconscious in the hospital. Esteban… Esteban is missing! Jhonny, Vera! I am very distressed!" Lorna said sobbing.

"Disappeared?... But how!"

"Don't know. The press says that Lilethe was manually managing the PTV drunk from her… I can't believe that ”

"Oh jesus!" Johnny said sadly. Vera hugged him sobbing.

On the road, a large group of rescuers had started the search work early, since the PTV record indicated that there were two occupants. It had stopped raining in the area, but the wind continued to blow strong.

When Greden arrived next to Regthar, the latter quickly approached Trend, who was in charge of the group of policemen stationed in the place.

“Trend! Tell me what happened! Where is Esteban?

"Calm down Regt... The rescue teams have already started the search"

"Rescue?"

"Yes, we presume that Esteban fell off the cliff into the ocean"

"Yes sir" the expert responded, before returning to his work. Regthar, for his part, approached the edge of the cliff, and watched the rough surface of the sea, breaking furiously against the rocks. Further on, he could make out a squad of drones flying over the area, and below, a boat with several rescue divers, rocking with the sway of the waves.

“Chief Tred. I'm the head of the rescue team. It is necessary to communicate the results of the search of the area so far. Please, follow me to my vehicle” Said a chakat with tiger-striped fur. Trend, knowing Regthar's character, decided to also invite him to listen to the Chakat Chief. The two renzar, along with the chakat and other rescuers, gathered in a circle, to the side of one of the vehicles.

"This is Regthar Siven, adoptive father of the victim," Trend was quick to say. The chakat looked at the Renzar doubtful that it was appropriate for Regthar to be present, but Trend nodded.

"Well. Air and sea surveys, even with our thermal cameras, have not yielded positive results so far. Mr. Regthar, I am very sorry” The chakat said.

"But, how... They still haven't found him?... Maybe... He didn't fall into the sea!" Said the Khudok fighter. But one of the Chakat rescuers who was with them reached out hys hand, handing Chief Trend an earring, with a piece of severed chain.

Regthar, seeing it up close, realized that it was the earring that Sachi had given Esteban, with the shape of Terra and Chakona enclosed in a heart.

A chill ran through Regthar's body. He looked at his friend Trend, not knowing what to say. The tears began to flow and he felt that he was short of breath.

"Regthar..." Trend said trying to comfort him, but the renzar moved away from them, back towards the edge of the cliff. With teary eyes, he tried to find the boy with his gaze. He yelled his name out loud.

"Esteban! Esteban!... Son! Grrr…”

Trend walked over to him and hugged him from behind. Regthar couldn't take the pressure and fell to his knees. Trend accompanied him. Both were crouched in front of the sea, while the brown renzar cried inconsolably on the chest of his friend.

The Chakat chief of the rescuers commented with his colleagues.

"How is it possible that the boy's corpse did not even appear"

“Shir, the scan detected not far from here, the presence of medium-sized marine predators. If the boy was bleeding, it's possible he lured them to shore and devoured him. It's the only explanation I can think of."

"But a few hours have passed since the accident, how is it possible that the predators have acted so quickly!"

“Shir, the predators in this area, are voracious and fast when they spot potential prey, especially if they smell blood. There are also smaller scavengers in these waters,” stated the rescuer. The chief, holding hys head, declared.
