Aligning 24 tracks for fun and profit
Okay, so back in 2018 I thought it would be fun to show Niall maintaining the Otari MTR90 in his studio. It wasn't fun, because Merlin had to draw it, and then I had to colour it and add all the details and make it so it feasibly had 24 channel cards instead of 13 or something. Frankly, it's a miracle the comic was done on time!
I don't have one of these, I have the budget model so lots of time was spent getting references for its big brother. I was also worrying about whether calibrating a multitrack while wearing rubber opera gloves would pose an ESD risk, so one of his wings has a grounding strap.
However, we do get to see Jakob in those arm-sleeves Abel likes to wear. Shiny ones, of course.

D'aww! I love the grounding strap on the wing tentacle, and the use of the wing tentacles to help keep reference material on hand for easy use! There are SO many details on this page, yeah, kudos to you both!
I imagine the hard part of keeping the grounding strap on a wing tentacle is making sure you don't accidentally and/or subconsciously shift the tentacle wearing it into something else that would make it fall off. Putting it on a tentacle that has a head is a wise move on Niall's part!

I dunno, I think unless the 'cubi in question practiced making functional eyes, the only ones who might be able to "see" out of the tentacle heads' eyes would be your clan leader, and only if they focused. The heads and tentacles are supposed to act on a subconscious level, so the head might just be aping the act of reading.
I always figured the tentacle heads' features were like eyespots. They look like the real thing, but have limited functionality, if any at all.
It's cute, either way!
