“What the?” the human instantly says as Lumen charges in and rushes towards the desk. They stand up, reaching for their belt line, having clearly not expected to have to deal with some trainer-less pokemon barging into the facility in the middle of the night.

“R!” Lumen shouts as I dash right past him.

That’s everything I needed to know. In the span of time that it took him to recognize that Lumen was a potential threat, stand up and put a hand near some of his own pokeballs I’ve already made it around the desk and latch down right onto his legs. He cries out over the attack and kicks his leg, trying to dislodge me, which I do without any real resistance, using the motion of his kick to help myself disengage anyway. I already did to him what I set out to do, it does me no good to press the issue. But I notice a blue aura around where his hands are anyway, implying that Maria’s holding his hands in place to prevent them from actually throwing any of his balls at us. It takes him a moment to recognize who I am and when he does his eyes widen considerably.
