That initial exchange definitely wasn't pleasant for either of our combatants, but they both see that moment of weakness as the perfect opportunity to strike! Who will come out on top in this clash?
Yeah, I enjoy the classic martial arts 'clash' too much to not use it here. I remember thinking it was especially cool on the cover of Street Fighter Alpha, but I've seen it other places as well. I also really just wanted to showcase their legwork and enjoy how the last panel is framed.
This page was a pain to finish up, by the way :P I spent way too long trying to fix and redraw elements, and there are still some things that I'm not the happiest with. I don't know how some artists crank pages like this out every week or even multiple times per week. Folks with that kind of workflow have a major amount of respect from me. Also, I know that I lately have tried not to post comic pages back to back, but hopefully folks don't mind. I do have some other fun stuff in the works!
