Probably not the best time to set up the satellite internet, but okay.

Not likely, Roko is currently being held captive by what amounts to a major demon, if not the lord of light himself. Rescuing Roko would require a VERY major distraction AND for there to not be a few hundred magical traps set by Suzo. The former is becoming quite likely, but the latter? Not so much.
This guy is pretty well prepared but I don't think the comic ends here. Monster Fox is also way overconfident and already made one major tactical error. I keep saying, Vetra and Taran show up the resultant party is gonna be lit.
And that'll be the perfect time to go hunting for Roko. He's got two eyes, his latest Miyo just died and he didn't bother reviving another one. He's not a god and not omnipotent and he's going to have his tails full with the entire Quetz army.

Never said it ended here, but the next arc will likely be trying to find an ally they can trust, AND who is capable of giving them a Roko of a chance, err, a GHOST of a chance against heavy hitters like this,. As it stands right now, a single THOUGHT directed their way would be the end of them. For now, they exist only so long as Lord Suzocon-sama DECREES it. Assuming they can even FIND the lab, the scarf is only evidence Roko was there, and surely Suzo locked it back up.
They'll probably EVENTUALLY rescue Roko, but the urgency for such an action right now is a distant second to escaping him before he decides they're more trouble than they are worth.

I half expect when that fox gets all 9 tails that he's going to blow up to the size of that entire castle and basically become a final fantasy final boss-tier beast.
Also calling it now: They get their UNLIMITED COSMIC POWAH along with a fancy mega floofed up kitsune god form we'll see for probably a few pages to take in their power (and bigness), are ready for their complete victory...and then in typical Virmir comic fashion, will lose it all in some dumb silly comedy-tier fashion because their ego makes them too easy a target for Rule of Funny. And then they'll end up a smol fox and given fitting punishment after.

He's already boss tier. He's going for raid tier.
At the point he gets his 9th tail, IF he is like classic kitsunes, his physical body will die and he will ascend as a kami, or Shinto god, and become both immortal and omniscient. Flitchard has a point. But they aren't completely invulnerable and Lord Suzocon well knows he's going up against a god-tier opponent here. I think they're both going to suffer some completely indignant fate before this is done. First time Vetra tries to use her "Eyestone" it's going to promptly turn into a bottlecap. And Taran is probably more than powerful enough to do damage to his shrine. (Not a castle - a Shinto shrine). It's going to be quite the fight if the raid bosses show up and start throwing down.
This is like Gandalf and the Balrog. "Fly, you fools!" is sometimes the only option where you live to see another day.

I would say its been at least a few weeks, maybe even a second month since Roko stole it. I would have to assume Queen Vetra has either tried to use it already, or needed to have it charged and discovered it's a fake by now. May even have been why the guards were out and about.
The guards got hostile when they realized that quetz!Suzocon had one of the "eyestones" and a very familiar looking charging station. That was massively sus. And that's when he launched an attack on the guards.
Interesting what they might have been sent to look for. I'd guess just to scout out the situation. Too bad Vetra didn't warn them just WHO was on that island. And now she's coming to get her daughter and her fake Eyestone. Probably not in that order.

I'm betting that's what their mission directly from the Queen was for. Then they happened upon the lightning, and then recognized Saida and it went downhill from there. They recognized 'the Kitsune' so they seemed to know about him, but maybe not to the extent of his power. Or back when they last dealt with him maybe he was only a 5 tail or something and the Quetz could handle him better and that's what they assumed they were dealing with. Still more to be revealed. .
Remeber, up until a day or so ago the eyestone was underwater and out of reach, so the Quetz could have been looking as early as a day or two after Roko stole it.

Yeah, this all could be true. We have no idea what's been going on in Laputa while Our Heroes have been busy getting themselves into trouble.
Really, it's too bad the folks that thought Suzocon could be a True Neutral were wrong. He made an excellent infodump char and could have helped them, but instead he turned out to be just another kaibutsu.

Long as it's aimed OUTWARD it's not their concern. Vetra can take care of herself. Root for injuries. He somehow actually takes her and that wretched son of hers out the world will IMPROVE. That would ultimately leave Saida in charge and she's a good egg.
They just need the distraction.
They just need the distraction.
True xD Definitely, and oh yes it most definitely would! Oh that's an interesting idea...
Yeah which this fight would certainly be! (was mostly worried about what that thing might be-slash-do, like if the two would end up as collateral damage from it unleashing energy everywhere, or another thought I had was it siphoning off their energy or something)
