at this point it's a question of lesser of two evils, this guy at least might help them, the Quetz will probably "rescue" "Saida" and kill "Brand"

They could as well turn the situation to their advantage.
They could shift the blame on Suzokon, claiming he kidnapped them, than he was the one who swapped their body, than he's the kitsune who introduded at the Quetz palace etc....

At leat that would be an alibi for Saida to explain why they swapped body.

They don't need to do anything. He's got Saida. He's got her Eyestone. And the first time she tries to use the Eyestone she has, it's going to turn into a bottlecap. He ATE HER BODYGUARD. The hornet's nest is well and truly swatted.

Trust is not the issue at this point. Expediency is. Suzocon would erase him in an instant if he thought Brand was working against him. For now, he's stuck on the boat as the battleships approach.

Shield magic against Vetra and Taran is kind of like having sandbags against a battleship. I'm not sure WHAT he thinks he's accomplishing but whatever it is, he better do it fast. The tornado is coming.

I'm probably not giving the thousand year old yao no kitsune enough credit. He sounded like he knew this was coming, and was trying to delay it, not prevent it. Someone else suggested anti-air turrets, and it would not surprise me if he had foxfire turrets set up somewhere. He's an arcane artificer. If anyone could invent those, it's him.

But the Eyestone, I think, is what he bet all his marbles on. He gets that charged, he has something to fire BACK at them from range. Thus telling Brand to KEEP CHARGING THE ROTTY THING.

Especially when Vetra's turns into a bottlecap. If that actually happens, it's going to be all kinds of hilarious. Epic Fail.

Wouldn't they have also gotten company soon even if he killed them all? The quetz would've been very suspicious of a delegation heading towards Susukon's island just vanishing completely.

He was trying to delay that as long as possible so he could charge the Eyestone and have heavy artillery of his own. The guard bugging out on him advanced that timetable substantially.

I think it's time for a magic mirror.

I don't think they're going to give him a chance to do any of his tricks. They're going to set up offshore and blast his shrine to rubble. He wants that Eyestone so he has a ranged attack of his own.

He's got Vetra's daughter AND her Eyestone and just sent a nuclear insult her way by eating her bodyguard. She may be stupid enough to monologue, but I imagine she's not going to fool around when she arrives.

Dunno, but I'm sure Lord Suzocon has a plan.

Suzocon was expecting this confrontation sooner or later, but he was probably hoping he'd have achieved godhood when he faced Vetra, who is a deity in her own right. No such luck. Action Stations!

Vetra-jou is probably screaming at the top of her lungs at everybody in range to armor up and fucking fall into formation. Including her son Taran-ouji, who's the heaviest artillery they got. At this point their rallying cry is probably, "Send him back to the pit he came from!"

Brand and Saida are realizing they're about to be stuck in the middle of a God of War boss battle.

Roko is probably just trying is damn best not to get his mind eaten by the Infinity Trap. He's busy.

And now doth kuso get real. He knows what's on the way and he REALLY wants that Eyestone charged before death from above arrives at his shrine.

It's cute that he thinks a GATE is going to stop an airborne army, though.

Are they going to realize what happened to their balloon friend Roko?

Once they manage to get the hell out of the middle of the war, they'll be looking for Roko. And they will find that breadcrumb he left earlier (the scarf on the door lever) to lead them into his Re-Animator lab. After that? Good luck.

I believe they'd realize rather quickly that Roko's missing, before that kitsune lord would gain enough electricity.

Brand did ask earlier, and Suzokon-kyo put out a breezy little lie he was checking out the south gardens. They'd probably go there first, realize he was lying, start a frantic search, and hopefully find Roko's scarf before the whole shrine came down around their heads.

Bonus: If they find Roko and bust him out, they can trash Suzocon's little Re-Animator project and let Miyo properly rest in piece. They can't defeat these Big Bads, but they can trash their plans thoroughly in the short term.

Hope they found Rocko soon

Ohhhh geez! Yeah I can picture him being quite enraged O.O;; (and good thing Miyo won't be around to deal with her master's outburst...)

Honestly, that meiyo no nai inu can shout into the abyss for eternity. I like a lot of aspects of the character from a writer's perspective, but as a villain, Suzokon-kyo is vile.

Between him and Vetra-jou, I'm rooting for injuries. The more embarrassing the better.

I think they will have something a whole lot larger scalein mind than something so petty. At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if Vetra tried to eat him for what he did to her bodyguards.

Suzocon is not faster than a quetz, and is seemingly worried about a big brigade of them or even Vetra. I still want to see him box up some more guys though, especially Daria

Heh. I think the whole circus is about to show up at his door, and they ain't coming for a Japanese tea ceremony. He's got everything precious to Vetra and gave her a big ol' kitsune middle finger in the process.

Darya, well... nobody wants to mess with her again, and she absolutely doesn't want to mess with Suzocon.

Not so much WORRIED, as he doesn't want the nuisance. Of all the Quetz, ONLY Vetra could truly challenge him. But even if you've got nigh invulnerability, being swarmed by ants is still unpleasant.
