It's really hard to photo graph frets but this should give you some idea of what my fretwork looks like. I did a level crown and polish job on these as well as redressed the fret ends in the process of polishing out those pesky scallops.
Frets should be shiny on all surfaces, have no visible sanding scratches or file marks, they should all be seated firmly on the board, be beveled in about 1/32 from the edge and there should be no sharp edges. If you are really picky, they should all look exactly the same too.
I have done a lot of frets. If you find a rainsong made between the years 2006 and 2009, chances are good that I was the one that did the fretwork. That number ends up being something like 1200-1300 guitars.
