"This is... a lot to take in!"
The streets that stretched on and on, the dazzling buildings and lights that put that bright canyon night to shame as the storm cleared overhead, and the crowds of Digimon all culminate into a paralyzing stupor as I look on.
The city, New File City, I had finally made it. It was so, so much more than I thought it would be all that time ago. Maybe a little plaza with some stores and homes around it but this? This is a proper city even if it's not as large as the sunken one before. I have to get ahold of myself and move to the side just as a Guardromon makes their way through, explaining something to a following of other Digimon as they went. I almost joined in when it sounded like he was giving directions and explaining things but decide against it as I have no clue how things are around here.
Where would I even go for such a thing? Is there like, a chief or mayor here? Would they even let some wild Digimon like me wander on in? Would I get kicked out because i'm not from around? It's all becoming a massive weight on my mind as everything continues on around me while I sit here trying to process it all. I gotta find a place to sit down and think or something, maybe I should seek out that Guardromon after all...
Man, this one meant a lot to me in quite a few ways here. Not only a culmination of both the story along with techniques i've gathered over the series but of also to capture that feeling when I saw the new city for the first time in the game and to just simply try and do justice to the design overall. This moment in game was pretty much the first time in a long time that made me think of the Digimon series and what I might have missed which led to all this updating and revisiting it and this drawing series. A lot of rewrites, redraws, and then a painfully slow crawl on finishing it but just like our digital friend here, it came a long way.
One more to go.
Coelamon, Guardomon, ToyAgumon, Mulemon, Betamon, Giromon, Publimon, Cockatrimon, Digimon world 1 and Decode all belong to Bandai and Toei Animation, Lu the Citystruck Coelamon is mine.
