This is NOT a Turkey...DO NOT EAT! This is a Turkey Vulture. One of the Two species of Vultures found in North America. This is the bird you see in cartoons sitting on a dead tree watching a dying miner dragging himself across the desert. They are very common, and are beautiful and graceful in fight. THEN. you get up close to one and......EWWWWWWW!!!!!

I've been birdwatching for....four years.
/is 15/
Where I grew up, we had tons of turkey vultures. They like to chill on the east coast year round. You could always look up and see them flying circles.
jk
I miss living in the east. I live on the northern plains now, and it's so dry and empty here. There's not many bird species other than Eurasian pigeons (who CAW and scream instead of coo) and a few hawks.
Ever seen those bearded vultures?
theyre like badger birds, and they eat SOLID bone!!
They also barf in self defense!
