Like I said before, my expanded version of this episode seriously raises the stakes. I keep wondering how the network execs and censors would’ve felt about having a plot point like this in a Saturday morning cartoon in 1983, especially since that’s the same year that ABC broadcast The Day After. If you can find this movie, viewer discretion is advised.

For those new to my writings, my fanfic “The Puppy Goes Undersea” tells how our friends know about Atlantis, and what happened to some of its survivors after its destruction.

Oh, and the Concorde supersonic jets? They were all retired in 2003 due to high maintenance costs, limitations in use due to the sonic booms, and low passenger numbers following a fatal crash and the 9/11 attacks. New studies and designs for supersonic travel are being pursued, but nothing commercially available yet so far.
