The very edge of Superstorm Sandy passed by Chicago. Of course we didn't get any damage or flooding, but the wind whipped up Lake Michigan with near-record waves. Here, waves crash up onto the lakefront bike path at North Avenue. Not long after I took this, the police closed the beach, and Lake Shore Drive was briefly closed due to the flooding threat.
