Snake Eyes Doubles Tournament
Game 2 - Dark Eldar/Space Marines vs Space Wolves/Tau
Mission: Kill points, Vandguard(corners) setup
Special Rules: Night fighting, Random game length
My list can be found here: http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4345135/
My partner has the following: 2 squads of grey hunters w/ meltagun in razorback w/ twin-linked assault cannons, rune priest, 2 long fang squads, one with 5 missile launchers, the other with 3 lascannon and 2 plasma cannons, and aegis line with quad gun
The Dark Eldar player had: 2 squads of warriors in raider, archon with bodyguard in venom, warrior squad in a venom and 2 Ravengers with dark lances, all vehicles had night shields
The marine had: 2 5 man tactical squads, lascannon/missile launcher dread, kitted out chapter master in terminator armour, 5 man terminator squad, and a land raider crusader.
Overview:
This game was a comedy of errors that did not need to happen. Main issue I had was the lack of hitting power on my hammerhead with missed every round it fired. This allowed the land raider to reach our lines and the terminators to start causing havoc if not for the bravery of my firewarriors, with against all odds killed four of intruders in close combat of all things.
The stealth suit held thier own for the most part, taking out a venom, ravanger and the squad inside. While it wasn't able to hit anything the hammerhead absorbed a large amount of fire from the dread and the ravangers only finally being taken down in the final turn of the game. In the end we tabled the Dark eldar player, but so was my space Wolf partner, the marine player did not lose a thing.
The remoras helped in supporting take downs of most of the raiders, causing multiple hull point loses and taking a large amount of fire from the tactical marines that could have been going to my suits early in the game.
In the end they were up by 3 units, a minor lose only helped by the large amount of units the Dark Eldar player fielded.
