Requests
I don't do free requests. My art is my job, and it's not fair to my commissioners to just do that instead of paid work. It is bad enough how much personal art I have to do just to stay sane. On occasion I might offer them to my friends, but really don't just befriend me for the chance at free art on that rare occasion. I have more to offer than my ability to draw. (yes, this has happened.. so yes, I get grumpy about it)
If you do want art, at nearly free prices from me, check out my Patreon: https://www.patreon.com/iggi

Art Trades
Most of the time I don't have time for trades. It doesn't hurt to ask, but please don't be offended if I say no. I try to find more time for trades in person at conventions, since usually those are only sketches. I do love them, I just don't get the time much.
On a side note, easiest way to know if I would like to trade with you someday is if I watch you! Though that isn't really the only thing, I might not know your art is awesome and you just need to show me your stuff. Or at a con, if you are shy about your art, still ask if you are a commission taking artist. (If you are too shy to take commissions though, a trade with me may not be your thing.)
I try to always get trades in any free time I may have with all manners of crafting and drawing artists of varying skill levels as long as they have a love for art as much as I do. (No music, writing, or poetry though, sadly your skills would be wasted on me and I am a flop and have little understanding of it to appreciate it from.) Though please, don't just get a trade with me to get free art and half-ass yours. (Not that this has happened often, but trades mean a lot to me. I put just as much effort into my trades as I do my commissions, and I hope you would do the same. Which is also why I rarely take trades, I work on them as much as commissions.)

Collaborative Art
I really really REALLY love them. However, I typically only do them with people I have met in person so I can gauge how well I would work them. In general, I like to swap a sketch back and forth a few times, then swap for one to do inks, another to color, another to shade, and both to offer finishing touches.

Gift/Fan Art
If you feel like drawing any of my characters I am kind of picky about what they are pictured in and how. If you are interested anyways, I have a detailed list of all my characters HERE with the rules about usage. I do have several characters I am just ok with whatever of. All of the adults can be pictured without asking in clean solo situations. I love to see art like this. However gift art does NOT mean I will trade with you. A gift is that, a gift... I wouldn't expect to get something in return for a gift, so please follow suit.

Critiques
Getting: I don't mind getting critiques on my work. Constructive criticism is welcomed! Please make sure to realize what a real critique actually is though first. (really, people get this confused once and a while) It is not something like commenting about how a character's genitals match the species. It is more like, 'that right breast seems a cup size larger than the left'. Critiques will point out executional flaws over aesthetic choice disagreements. Though it is highly unlikely that I will go back and change something, especially if the commissioner specifically requested it. Personal art is the only one I would ever go back on (if I really want to make it perfect in my eyes). However critiques are welcome so I can consider what to look for in the future. I especially like crits if you can offer a substitution, as sometimes words are difficult to convey what you feel is wrong.
Giving: I don't mind giving critiques. Though I usually default to encouragement-types more than constructive or blunt. If you want a blunt verbal critique or constructive you will need to ask. My crits will point out strengths and flaws alike. Redlines, I am no artistic master, but if I have time I do offer them to friends and acquaintances. Helping other artists is a joy for me when I can find the time.

Reposting or Using my Work
You commissioned it: Yes, feel free. Just make sure to credit me as the artist. Don't make money from it unless we specifically agreed to that in a contract. Otherwise you can use it for whatever you want as personal use.
It was commissioned for you: You can repost, same rules as above.
Recolors/Alterations: In general, please don't do it. If you commissioned it from me, you can do it, please just give me credit for the artwork still and note that it is altered. If you want it for a character, see 'tracing' below.
Referencing: I'm fine with you using my characters and species as references for designs. Just make sure you change the character enough (especially on my more complicated characters) color and design wise that they are easily distinguishable from my own. That helps me with brand recognition, and it is always easier to have something unique to you. However, straight-up tracing and using very similar characters is a no-go for me. In this case where you are referencing a design, please use your own lines and a new color pallet at least.
Tracing: I don't mind people tracing my artwork. Just DO NOT MAKE MONEY FROM IT. Tracing is a great way to learn and practice when you are starting out. Please don't trace my characters or my reference sheets though, since those lines are often personal to a character. If you are tracing a commissioned piece, please ask the person who commissioned it as well to make sure they are ok with it. If you really like my linework of a character, sometimes I will give you a higher res of the linework for low cost if you want to recolor it just for yourself. (sometimes) Please also credit me in any and all tracings you may do if you repost them. Please also provide link backs to the source material. (and this journal if needed)
Work you didn't commission: In general don't. You can repost to place like e621 as long as you notify me, give a link back to the original, do not alter the piece, and give myself and all subject/participants credit. I am NOT ok with you using my characters on places like F-list without my permission and you are claiming them as your own. I realize I'm posting my art up on a public site, but that does not make them free to use. This is an image hosting site, where I choose to try and get business, and I post up my work for that sole purpose of image sharing and income generation.
Using any of my art/characters for any other method without my explicit permission is theft. If you want any my characters for use, you need to directly ask. In some cases I will be fine with it, but I need to know ahead of time. Do NOT use my characters without notifying me first. I will pursue you for take-down. I have a journal with guidelines for use of them:HERE.

Adoptables and Original Species
Unless it is specifically stated, all of my adoptables are customs only. Do not trace them. If you want your own and cannot afford one, you can purchase cheaply (like $5 usually) the linework for you to color for just yourself. Most of my species are also open species, as long as you do your own linework for them, I am not going to tell you you can't have one. I just ask that you please not make them too much like any that I have made prior.
If you want to use my personal species I won't stop you. Just like wolf dragon hybrids can't be copyrighted, I am not going to copyright bearded dragon ocelot hybrids. Your own characters are your own design. Again though, I ask you make yourself discernible from me, since many of my characters are recognizable to myself and my 'brand'. Confusion on these matters will only have problems, frustration, and anger between multiple persons.
I have a few rules with my adopts that are relatively simple to follow.
1) Do not sell the adopt for higher than you purchased it at. The default is $15 unless it was a custom, which is $20. In general I am fine with any adopts being resold at $20. If you are including artwork with them when reselling, then you can sell it for more than the purchased price.
2) Make sure when re-posting the adopt that you give me credit for the original artwork I created. You do not have to give me credit on art I did not do or for the species.
3) 1 time species auctions do not follow the same rules as the adopts, and you can sell them at whatever price you like if you decide you no longer want them.
4) You can re-sell the adopts to me in a manner of speaking if you like. I will re-purchase the adopts back from you at half price you paid for resale from my account. However I will not give you actual money, I will give you a credit to a commission in the future with me. You can only use one of these coupons per commission of $25 or more.

Drama and Comments
From time to time I may hide a comment. This often confuses people as some kind of personal jab. If I hide your comment is likely for one of the following reasons:
-Your comment was distasteful on the commission. I was not offended, but I feel it may start un-needed drama.
-You outright didn't read the artist comment, and I feel your comment was rude.
-It was a critique, and though I likely appreciated it, I hid it so it wouldn't offend the person who commissioned it.
-You said something totally uncalled for, and I also blocked you.
-You responded to someone aggressively. (or could be seen as such)
-You started an RP in the comment.
-You made adult comments on a clean all audience piece of art.
-You made sexual advances to myself, my sona, or a commissioner when the artist's comment specifically asks you not to.
If I find I hide comments from you a lot for any combination of reasons, I may block you to avoid potential drama that I can't catch in time.
Not to sound bad, but if I hide a comment I did so to prevent more or other people from getting upset. I know how often context or thoughts can be misinterpreted. If I ever feel a comment might be seen as such I will hide it. No warning, no explanation. I don't do this as a personal jab, but I would rather offend one person by hiding their comment than possibly a large number of people from reading it. If you dislike my method for dealing with this, please refrain from commenting or outright unwatch me if the way I handle this bothers you. That is fine, not everything I do will please everybody. But I expect a level of kindness and respect from those who view my art. I don't' care what the art's subject matter is, that doesn't mean it is ok for certain things.

Commenting Etiquette... More In-depth
I find that for many people this is often a very confusing topic. As the preference for what an artist prefers often widely varies. Personally I prefer simple thoughts, usually polite. Negative feedback is allowed, however keep it professional.
Phrasing opinions politely: It highly bothers me when people make comments that are detracting opinions. For example 'The fact that you added a xxx-gential option to this character really bothers me and ruins the piece' is a rather rude comment. I may hide it or comment to you to inform you of how something like that is impolite. First, this is someone's character, and it may very well be them. Secondly, if you didn't commission the piece (though I would imagine you would only commission stuff you would like), your thought on such a matter is irrelevant. If you think it is ok to walk up to random strangers and tell them that because they posses xxx-genital makes them ugly to you is beyond rude. Please keep thoughts like that to yourself.
opinions =/= critiques
Rating vs Commenting: Additionally, making adult or sexual-innuendo type comments on art that is rated general audience (and sometimes mature) is inappropriate. Though I realize that no one under the age of 13 should be on this site, that does not mean comments like that are ok. Example: Someone is viewing in SFW mode while they are babysitting and need to check their notes and see a cute submission of two adults having a dinner together and click on it. The first comment is 'Is he going to f*** her in the a** tonight for such a nice dinner date.' Totally not cool, and really inappropriate. Comments like this will get you blocked on my page if I see it more than once, and comments will always be hidden when I catch them. Please keep comments equal to the rating of the piece.
Reading the artist comment: I've mostly stopped posting personal artwork due to the fact that many people find it ok to make lewd comments to any nude or sexual personal piece that I post. And were I do realize many users are on sites like this for the adult content, please make sure that an artist is ok with comments by first checking their own on a piece. The fastest way to get blocked permanently is to not pay attention before you leave a comment. I do NOT like it when people tell me that they want to have sex with me on a nude picture of Iggi. You can think it, I really don't mind. But it is all kinds of creepy when a stranger comes to me and tells me how they desire to have sex with me.
No, just no. It is screwed up in real life, it is screwed up on the internet. It is not a compliment. Yes, I am posting up sexual images on a semi-public site. This does not mean you have free reign to make comments like this and expect no backlash. I am posting my personal art as a kindness for those who can enjoy it on a purely artistic merit. Afterthoughts of how you take it are not something I want to know. So do not tell me things like this, EVER.
In short, read the comment. If I say nothing about commenting, feel free to make adult comments to adult work. (though it is never ok for adult comments on clean art)
