The Blue Ridge Furfare is Asheville, North Carolina's premier furry convention, hosted in the Hilton DoubleTree Hilton in Biltmore Village and the Asheville Crowne Plaza Resort Hotel in Asheville, North Carolina.

Blue Ridge Furfare, "Mainfurame Meltdown," March 17-19, 2023

Blue Ridge Furfare went virtual for 2023, returning to VRChat, Discord, and Twitch, with a cybernetic theme of a mainframe going into meltdown. Undeterred, the convention's therian expert, RandomxBlackxCat, called for participants to submit videos for a virtual fursuit parade to start things off.

Blue Ridge Furfare, "Great Outdoors," March 10-14, 2022

For 2022, Blue Ridge Furfare "The Great Outdoors" returned to host its second convention under the leadership of the North Carolina Anthro Society, which also operates Bewhiskered. The convention embraced a theme surrounding trailblazing, camping, exploration in the woods and rugged areas, and admiration for the Blue Ridge Mountains.

 Furfare hosted panels, raves, dueling dancers, a dance competition, charity auction, anthro artists olympics, dealers' den, and artists' alley, all in-person and on-site at a hotel resort that kept with the theme of a campground. Masks and vaccines were required. The staff took the extra step of inspecting everyone's fursuit to see if masks were being worn underneath.

This convention was my first time overnight in North Carolina, as well as my first convention fursuit photo and parade!

After 4 days of fun, 883 attendees (including 559 who preregistered), with 270 or more fursuiters, raked in $4,610 for charity!

I felt like I owed it to Blue Ridge Furfare to go to this convention to make up for my lack of attendance at the virtual convention. The trip was well worth it!

Blue Ridge Furfare, "80s Retro Revive," March 12-14, 2021

This year, Blue Ridge Furfare "80s Retro Revive" went virtual due to COVID-19, switching to VRChat, Twitch, and Discord.

 Furfare had a special VRChat world constructed by  Firr. The world looked amazing, complete with two levels, a Dealers Den, and a great view of a retrograde sunset! Oh, and a warehouse level which mimicked a warehouse rave party with a working music stream!

I caught the tail end of the convention, but took the time to watch all the Twitch and Youtube videos, and join the Telegram and Discord. The people there are fantastic!
