Finally Got Booster Shot
After a total catastrophe on the last Saturday before Christmas, I finally got my COVID Booster shot, at least two weeks early than when I originally booked it.
It was just too bad I couldn't get it before Christmas, as I was working as a Mall Santa in Basingstoke. It was just too bad that the nearest Walk-In Booster was in Fleet, on that very Saturday, and ran from 8:30am - 7pm, when I was to have finished work for that day...
It was just unfortunate that whilst I had told my Group Managers of my plans to get my Booster, and they gave me the go-ahead, it turns out that Managerial HQ didn't approve of Walk-Ins, and I myself didn't anticipate the 1/4 mile queue outside the Vaccination Centre - even so early in the morning!
In the end, I had to forego my Booster and high-tail it to work after Head Office got in touch with me.
I mean, would you rather be protected (especially as you're working with young children who haven't been vaccinated yet) or punctual?
Still, that was the only flaw I had that morning, but I'm glad I was able to recently check the NHS website for Walk-Ins and rebook. (Funny thing was, at the beginning, the nearest one was in Reading - not matter what address, town name or postcode I type it)
Least now, I'm covered for the time being, but I'm looking forward to when this whole ordeal is over, and we can return to some state of normality in the near future.
