Art removals: spyro, fizz, others
I have done a good job staying out of trouble on FurAffinity this year! Which is good, because after 15 years here and 1,435 uploads, I have accumulated one warning and two strikes. The unfortunate reality of a 3-strike system is no matter how diligent I am, I'll be permanently banned soon. Maybe later this year! But the proactive approach I adopted has worked as evidenced by the fact that I still have a Furaffinity account as of February 2022 :) However, remaining proactive means going back and removing old art sometimes.
I have removed all of my yordle art. I had already removed some of the iffier yordles (teemo, kennen) but reading up on Yordle lore, it seems while they have a childlike appearance, they are centuries old and do not age in the same way humans do. This may seem overly paranoid but my second ban was for a dragon with a childlike appearance who is centuries old and does not age in the same way humans do.
Rammus is still OK. (OK)
I have removed all of my Spyro art. Wiki sources list Spyro as a teenager which aligns with his teenage mannerisms. Online consensus (#1, #2) appears to be that the events of Year Of The Dragon peg him at 12 years of age. It seems pretty clear cut and the only real defense is "Well this and that popular artist draws Spyro." That sounds nice! Maybe some day when I am a popular artist I will draw Spyro again.
I have removed a few other pictures too, such as a Puck commission which slipped through the cracks. With 1,435 submissions it is hard to catch everything! But I am trying hard.
Maybe I made a mistake! The cool thing about the taco system is that if a moderator ever says "no, no, Spyro The Dragon is OK. Actually Sparkster is fine too, you can put those pictures back up." I can go back and fix the old submissions and everything is fine. Unfortunately the only guidance I've been given from official sources is "you will have to make the best decisions for you... ...especially [for] characters that appear childlike." So I'm doing my best. I'm sorry!
I will still be drawing stuff like Spyro and Fizz and you can find it on InkBunny, Twitter and e621! I know not everybody likes those sites as much as FurAffinity. InkBunny has a stigma of being "the underage site". Twitter is not really a gallery. e621 isn't intended as a place for artists to showcase their art. Maybe there are other sites you would prefer, let me know! I am also active on Furry Network, Newgrounds and SoFurry although they have the same content restrictions as FurAffinity.

FA+

newgrounds started out kind of hostile with people dming me like "PUT GAY IN THE TITLE!!! I DON'T WANT TO SEE THIS"
nowadays though it's lovely! i've gotten a lot of positive comments and good vibes from that place, it's really surprised me
this is really it, i'd just love to have a "do not draw" list broken down by universe and character. it sounds excessive but really i'm sure they already have an inhouse list even if it's just stored in their brains
- POKEMON:
-- NO: misty, ash, pikachu with hats
-- YES: pikachu without hats
-- YES: 'baby' pokemon such as Riolu, Magby, Elekid
-- YES: all other pokemon not mentioned above
- DIGIMON:
-- NO: tatako, hiro, willis
-- YES: all digimon
- SPYRO THE DRAGON:
-- NO: spyro
-- YES: cynder
etc etc
pikachu with a hat = 10 years old
honestly of all the silly things someone could get banned for, this one sort of makes sense to me
How does a hat make them ten?!
i'm sorry for being coy, i wasn't trying to tease you. it really is a legitimate reason.
(although one does have to wonder -- if ashchu counts as underage porn... does that mean it's OK to draw naked human children, as long as they've swapped brains with pokemon?? or are both halves still children? it's sort of a ship of theseus thing...)
Not Ashchu, but what about other hats?
this is a good question which demands more research!
we need to create more FurAffinity alts and have them upload different pikachu hats to see who gets banned
In fact. . .

Please someone send help!
damn i already forgot Ashachu!
ashachu! where does the time go...
Bonus content, this is Tails when he's around thirty: http://pm1.narvii.com/6231/37b59235.....009b2c1_00.jpg
that's all fine. maybe my art looks fucked up sometimes. i've drawn dicks emerging from slits where people thought it was scat porn. i've drawn situations with evolved/unevolved pokemon where people thought it was incest. i wouldn't be surprised if i drew a first-evo pokemon where people thought it was underage
really the issue is just that with something so subjective a 3-strike rule is insane. ...i'm all for, um... trying to control what people think? seriously, i can do my best! ...but how am i reasonably expected to control what people think 100% of the time and not make 3 mistakes that's um... that's hard mode
At least if they expired after a year, I could nuke my gallery with tacos and go on hiatus -- and sort of escape a permaban that way.
Please, for the love of god, please tell me which image this is.
here's #1, the serperior in the upper right has dual hemipenes which definitely look iffy. DTZ's cock is yellow mixed with pink, which is a cute penisy orange. serperior's cocks are green faded with red which -- well, makes brown. (honestly, trubbish's dick is pretty suspicious too and could easily look like pidove just dropped a fat one)
here's #2 and i guess #3. given the context, someone thought venter's stomach rumbled and grovyle ate... something else. this time i think colors would help a lot since venter's dick is a deep purple
That is a broken system in my mind.
i received my first warning in December 2015
i received my final warning in September 2018 (suspended for one week)
i was told there will be no more warnings
telegram sounds about the same as twitter!
Inkbunny is a nice place. Will surely keep an eye on you there =3
I do understand the concern over Yordles though as these body proportion can really look off to me.
I find the Taco system to be a really funny solution, but also a very dumb one.
Your account is about as old as the website, and the lack of strike appeal especially given how long you've been posting here is ruthless.
I was banned for two other characters (bowser jr, tabaluga) who have plenty of porn up here as well. FA's bans are report based so that's just how it works. 1,000 people draw something and nothing happens. But then I draw it and I'm banned. Is it fair? Yes, it's fair in a way. If anybody gets reported, they get get banned. If I think it's unfair those other people aren't being punished, I can always report them too.
> I find the Taco system to be a really funny solution, but also a very dumb one.
I'm curious if you have a better system! I think the taco system is good because it's visible and it's reversible. A naive system would just be deleting the pictures -- but if I did that,
1) comment threads would be lost
2) viewers would know how much I had deleted
3) moderators wouldn't know I was putting forth an effort
4) I couldn't reverse it if I later learned that Spyro porn was permissible by FA's AUP
> Your account is about as old as the website, and the lack of strike appeal especially given how long you've been posting here is ruthless.
Ha ha yeah! I'm not saying like, I need to have tenure or something like that but I think it's obvious from the past 18 years worth of art I've put up here that I'm not drawing kids, I'm just drawing random shit. It's baffling that after being commissioned to draw 50 random dragons, the mods get on my case like "Whoa hold up! Those other 49 dragons from those TV shows are okay, but THAT dragon from THAT TV show is underage!! You should know better!"
Like yeah, I'll take your word for it but for future reference, what's my clue here? How do I tell this dragon from the other 49 dragons? They're a dragon I've never heard of, from a TV show I never watched, and their wiki says they're 800 years old...
And posting tacos just to make sure this behemoth of a gallery isn't gone feels silly :p
> Is there any other content in my gallery which is against AUP? I'd like to avoid being suspended again. Can someone go through my 1,002 submissions and double-check the canonical age of every rule 34 character I have drawn? I know there are many which are uncertain, (Zabivaka, Koopalings, Meowser Jr, Riolu, etc). I've tried to use my best judgment, but I understand how this would not 100% align with every mod who scrutinizes my gallery. I'd like to err on the size of caution so I can keep my gallery active.
to which they sensibly replied,
>> I cannot audit your gallery - you will have to make the best decisions for you; however, I encourage you to more thoroughly review these characters before posting them to Fur Affinity in situations that would otherwise be prohibited, especially characters that appear childlike.
i have never sent a more level-headed message to the mod team since then, so that's definitely on me.
i'm curious what would you recommend i ask -- just rattle off 10-15 rule34 characters and ask "can you give me a quick yes/no on Spyro, Diddy Kong, Koopalings, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Ratchet, Fizz, and Teemo?" or were you thinking more a question like, "it's been 4 years since my last 'strike', is there a way to avoid permanently being on two strikes?" or something more like, "is there a formal process I can submit pictures through to ensure they don't contain objectionable content/characters before uploading them?"
To the best of my knowledge, FA has been under new ownership for a year or so now. It might be worth writing a more level-headed message and inquiring if it's possible to reinstate the good standing of your account and/or institute new policies that are: 1) more fair to users who aren't actively malicious, and 2) more in line with other online platforms.
In real life this is pretty easy thing to deal with by just requiring everyone who looks young to have their ID shown, but somehow loli showing their ID which states that they are thousand years isn't working and there's also difference between OC where you can just say they are of age and small sized and then official big corporation characters whose ages are never exposed but people simply guess from the overall lore which can also expand with several redesigns and reboots.
Spyro is pretty similar trap to Tails from Sonic, Spike from MLP and Ralsei and Deltarune where many don't really think of them as cub, but then there's this really vocal group who knows exactly how many days old the character is and does everything they can to make it heard.
With Spyro I also know many people who have scrapped a lot of their projects because they were told that they are doing cub content which they aren't comfortable with, so Spyro is most definitely on that line of technically fine, but you will most likely get hammered by FA admin if someone gets vocal.
At least on e621 strikes decay in 6 months and the worst that happens if post looks like cub is that it's autohidden from new users who haven't modified their blacklist. Altough even there, people who are super strictly againts cub and have their content tagged with young get extremely pissed off about that constantly, in many cases the content is from FA so they do not want to get banned from FA just because their character looks like they are 17, because you know, people like to still look hot and young.
for sure, saying "oh these four kids that are fucking are all 18 years old" or whatever wouldn't fly, and i suspect when i got banned for tabaluga that's what the mod was thinking too. "oh whatever, they're obviously a kid", so i get it
> I also know many people who have scrapped a lot of their projects because they were told that they are doing cub content which they aren't comfortable with
everything you said makes sense to me except for this which just makes me sad. not like -- sad that someone would be against it, but just sad that someone would care THIS much about someone else's opinion, or the age of a fictional character.
sure, this website doesn't want it -- don't post it. sure, you want it on your patreon -- don't draw it anymore. but to just scrap an entire project that you're doing for yourself just because people might think, "oh, he drew Leonardo from the ninja turtles -- i never realized he was into cub porn" it's just like sad and fucked up. living your life just based on every else's potential perceptions of you isn't sustainable long-term. you can play by all the rules you want -- someone somewhere some day will say something mean about you. it's just life
> At least on e621 strikes decay in 6 months
the only e621 "strikes" i was aware of are if you upload something which later gets taken down because it's not approved - i didn't know there were "underage porn strikes". but, that's good that they decay.
i can totally understand people being uppity about "DO NOT TAG MY PICTURE CUB!" on e621, just to avoid hot water on FA. i've heard of people being banned on FA based on tags on other sites, and honestly my second bullshit ban (for this picture of tom nook) was probably because of this, because a similar picture was tagged 'cub' on inkbunny
Spyro is definitely one of those characters that people simply love them and don't see them as cub in their head, so after they create something they love, when someone puts that idea in their head that they are just a kid because they are saving adult dragons in the game, I can definitely see that being depressing situation. It's definitely sad but I have most definitely seen this happen first hand.
With e621, no, if posts get deleted, they aren't strikes and there's no strikes for posting material featuring underaged characters.
Was talking if you do get strikes for breaking rules on your account, e.g. posting patreon leaked material or you are vandalizing tags/sources, that record will decay in 6 months, so for someone to get their account permabanned, they would need to post paid material three times within a year, so FAs system of you being on site for 20 years and if you fucked up two times after registering, now your account is constantly in danger of being axed entirely is maybe bit too much.
Also looking at that example image of tom nook "cub", I have no idea where there's supposed to be cub lol
Many of the pokemons first evolutions look super cub like, but for some reason those get free pass on FA and even pokefurs fight to the death that first evolution doesn't mean underaged by lore.
If you look at the child of the e621 post I linked -- i posted one version to InkBunny with nooklings, and another version to FurAffinity without them. According to the moderator, they didn't notice that the FurAffinity upload didn't have nooklings in it when they banned me (?)
It's the kind of mistake that raises more questions than answers... Why does it matter what I upload to other sites? Why are they looking at InkBunny? Why wouldn't they look at the pictures I upload here? Do they even look at the pictures? Do they just have a bot which looks at tags and titles? Someone is doing their job horribly wrong
> for some reason those get free pass on FA
I wouldn't totally count on it though, and I've removed a lot of suspicious pokemon art -- particularly art involving characters from the same evo line. I have no idea if it's safe or not, I just don't want to poke the bear (no offense) 🐻
wow i didn't know "i want to be him" was something that would be strikeworthy! about half the comments i receive are stuff like "that dick looks delicious" -> "i wanna suck off that kangaskhan" -> "i'm jealous of that wartortle" -> "i wish i were that wartortle" so if there's a line that's crossed there, i'd have tremendous difficulty figuring out where it is
Anyway I'm already following you on IB. Might have to actually USE my newgrounds account sometime.
yeah it's their website so i'm OK following their rules! i totally understand having rules. if they don't want spike, bowser jr, lemmy loopa (but roy koopa is OK), the ninja turtles, spike (but cinder is OK) and zabivaka on their site -- or whatever arbitrary list they come up with, that is AOK.
but, it is a very hard rule to follow when we don't get a copy of that secret list
> Might have to actually USE my newgrounds account sometime.
yeah newgrounds seems OK! its rules are the same as furaffinity, and they've taken down some of my art so i'm more careful of what i upload there. but -- they haven't banned or suspended me.
on that note, just watched you on that site
Between FA and IB, we sort of have most topics covered. IB doesn't allow human characters, but FA does. And FA doesn't allow cub but you can post them on IB. Where IB wins out is that their policy is much more clear. You can easily tell if a character is human or not, there's no need for a debate there. And it seems like IB is much less strict and aren't going beyond the legal requirements. So you can link to human art on other sites as long as IB isn't hosting it. While linking to cub on FA leads to an immediate penalty because their policy is based on a particular flavor of ethics rather than law.
but, it could also be more that i'm interested in more 'cub adjacent stuff' (ninja turtles, spyro, league of legends monsters) than 'human adjacent stuff' (fairies, giants, dwarves, halflings). maybe there are some fantasy artists out there who have this same problem with IB except it's about insisting a halfling is not a human if his ears are slightly pointy regardless, i've never heard of it and i literally don't know anyone who's ever been banned from InkBunny due to AUP violations
And yes, FA's system is broken. There can be far more leniency in a penal system than in here. Unless you are close to some people, in which case you are untouchable.
but... it's a really trifling detail to be reprimanded banned over! i'm grateful to other sites that just edit my submissions or issue takedowns, i'm fine with that. everybody makes mistakes. so, fix my mistakes! that's fine, at least for me.
it's just baffling to be banned for things like that, "you broke the rules! we are punishing you, so you are banned for one week."
(...well, okay... which rule did i break?)
"four years ago, you drew a character that is inappropriate."
(...the internet says he's 800 years old, and i know NOTHING about him. ...besides that, you didn't catch this until four years later!? ...shouldn't YOU be punished???)
The FA admins are a rather fickle bunch that clearly love their power trips, which is why I decided to post higher resolution versions of my pics on Twitter and other sites (I need to start using SoFurry more) and not here.
oh -- i just sort of do that because FA downsizes everything to 1280x1280 automatically, unless you fight against it! ...but now I can think of it as a teeny tiny act of rebellion too
please let me know if there is an old picture that you want to see again which was removed! i will post it on inkbunny or itaku or somewhere else. i am not trying to hide my old art
