Luna is gone. But we are in debt to those who helped.
The only emergency vet in the area would not operate to save her life, because we did not have the money up front.
Instead they sent us home with antibiotics and a suggestion that we ask friends, family and maybe start a gofundme page...
3 days later, she was jaundice and very ill, we were forced to ask everyone we knew for help, two stepped forward and loaned us a card to use,...
We brought her to the vet, and they said now that we waited, the infection had spread, and the bill went from $3,800.00 to $5800.00. My cousin, and other wonderful friends helped bring the bill down to around $4,000.00...
We got her in for surgery and were sent home to wait.
They called and had "good news and bad news"...
The operation was a success.
However they found her to be septic and she needed to be put down.
We had waited too long... due to the vet's policy on caring more about money than your furry family members.
They have NO policy for payment plans.
They refuse to help without money up front.
This needs to change.
BUT, it will not change poor Luna's life ending at only 5 years old because of money.
It will not pay back the friends who, going through hard times themselves, graciously loaned us the funding to help try to save her life.
Our loved one is gone, and all that remains are some photos, the dog hair we find here and there through out the house, her toys that the other dogs hold against the window and cry through whenever someone pulls up as they think she may return... her memories, the sad silence as she was the one who would start barking if anyone came to the house... And, of course, the final bill.
I never ask for help, but in this circumstance, I have to.
Please, if you can spare a few beans to help us pay back friends who tried so hard to help our little girl,
It would be greatly appreciated.
I humbly ask you, for anything you can spare.
And thank you in advance.

Hey man, how you been. Sorry I haven't been like, around it's been a wild ride since we last spoke.
Do you have VRChat? We could hang out man. ^_^
My sympathies, friend...
I watched my best friend Charles die, my grand parents both, my girlfriend LadySin on here, another friend Sparky committed suicide, two horses a dog, and a sheep here at the farm, all in the same year, it was a terrible 365 days of loss, and I watched even with the people, the moment you, hour friends and your family are bled dry of money, suddenly there is nothing anyone can do but make you comfortable... the thing that gets me is the fake smiles, the fake "I'm sorry for your loss" the fake responses to questions, the "it's natural, things will be okay when it is all over", the routine they do is all the same.
It's like they all train to just, cookie cutter the responses, and streamline everything to get you out, the next one in.
It's a huge business, and with all the people in the world I guess I can see how it has become so systematic and routine, but... it still should be different.
If they only accepted payments, our dog, our little family member, would still be with us. And i can never, ever get that out of my mind, it sucks.
