That the Republican Party has not been labeled a terrorist organization amazes me.

Rest assured, the roll back of all LGBT rights is high on the Republican "to do" list.

When people tell me "oh, I dont vote" (for whatever reason) I think that they get what they deserve. Voting is the only defense we have.

Well we do have other ways, but I'd get put on a watchlist if I said them.

The roe decision was never really solidly based in constitutional law. Handwaving the details, they basically expanded the right to be secure from random searches by the government, reached out to expand that into the right to privacy, then further expanded that into bodily autonomy. So legally speaking it was always more of an ideological than legal position. The past couple of years of the left totally ignoring and trampling that right to bodily autonomy with the forced vaccinations against COVID greatly weakened any moral authority that the position had. Add in the idea that the fetus is a separate person, with their own right to life, Liberty, and the pursuit of happiness, and the ever advancing state of the art in medicine in keeping premature babies alive, that barrier has moved a lot since back then.

So, once again, the lefties pursued a short term goal, forced vaccinations, laid the groundwork allowing the conservatives to reversed that long held abortion position. Also, why the hell why the democrats didn't pass a law reinforcing the right to abortion in the past 50 years was just stupid on their part.

Both parties are shit, but I think I'll stick with the one that isn't killing innocent people by being a bunch of privileged, ignorant, inbred hicks.

I won't get into the pros and cons of the vaccine issue, beyond that they were a crash priority program, and in these there are always mistakes made and many shortcuts taken. They are only just into the third year of the long term human safety studies. Thalidimide anyone?
But there has been a long held allowance for individuals to opt out of vaccines and other medical interventions for religious, moral, and medical grounds. The concensus was that they were grown adults making an informed decision. The mandatory vaxxers totally overrode that and forced people to get the vax or put themselves into untenable situations, forcing them be fired from their jobs, and isolate them with no means of support. You also vastly overstate the lethality of covid. Yeah, it was bad, but it was not as lethal as the spanish flu, let alone something like Measles or the Bubonic Plague.

But that is not really relavant to the constitutional weakness of the Roe V Wade decision.

The problem with the covid situation is it was too politicized, hence why the US response to it was a total cluster eff. But that subject is outside the scope of this particular topic IMHO. As for Roe v Wae, regardless of how constitutionally weak or legit the outcome of that case was, it has been the only real protection shielding women from over zealous far right folks in power banning abortion outright. Now banning abortion outright may sound like the morally correct thing to do at least from a pro-lifer's prospective. Even as left leaning my own socio-political stance is, even I believe an abortion should be a last resort type of thing. But the question that pro-lifers need to answer are these. Is a woman who has been raped to be required to raise an unplanned/unwanted child she was forced into having through no fault of her own? To me, I cannot think of a moral justification to the cruelty suffered by the rape victim and rape child. Secondly, how about a woman with a medical issue that would mean certain death for her, the baby, or both is she carried the pregnancy to term? Is she to be expected by pro-lifers to have that child anyway because religion and conservative morality demands it? After all, if right to life is what a pro lifer is aiming for, that woman has as much of a right to life as that unborn child does. How about a couple that is too poor to provide sufficient, wholesome, and safe environment to raise a child in? Do pro-lifers have ideas to provide a helping hand to kids born into low income families or is it "Yoo bad. Should have abstained or wear a condom." and leave a pregnant couple on their own. Dysfunction, abuse, domestic violence, etc. among families can happen at all income levels, but is horribly frequent among low income households. Both my fiancee and my mother were born into such toxic circumstances and I've heard enough of the horror stories to send chills down my back. Sure they turned out to be decent human beings. But why should they have been born into that kind of abusive situations in the first place? I have yet to hear a justifiable answer from any pro-lifer on that one.

Finally somebody says it!!! The right needs to stop politicizing basic human decency.

Pro-lifers already consider abortion as genocide.
Also the anti-vax movement has already existed: “vaccines cause autism,” Andrew Wakefield bullshit, etc.

Overturning Roe v Wade doesn't necessarily make abortive illegal. It leaves the legality to the states. If it's a concern for you, read the state constitutions.

And every single red state will make abortion illegal based solely on religion. Nevermind rape babies. Nevermind life threatening medical issues. And nevermind children born into toxic environments. The "let the states decide" bit is what will give red states the freedom to ban abortion. What do you think will happen if red states were to have the freedom to do somthing like make same sex marriage illegal?

You should never trust the state, anyways. It has a very strong tendency to act on its own interests, when it can. That's why people need to be in constant communication with their representatives.

People forget that even Donald Trump appointed openly gay people to his cabinet, at the recommendation of several representatives.

Not every pro-lifer is against abortion because of religion. A lot of pro-lifers believe the fetus has the right to life too, like any born human.
