Esclarecimento de dúvidas

Sobre Comissões:
Comissão é um acordo entre o cliente (comissionador) e artista (ilustrador) que mediante a um pagamento e acordo prévio, requisita ao artista (vendedor) um produto (arte ou peça de arte, animação) sob uma encomenda (comissão).
Uma comissão (encomenda) geralmente tem algumas distinções, mas funciona da mesma maneira em essência.
Uma comissão pode ser uma arte (fã arte, cenário, personagem específico, quadrinho (comic), animação (avatar ou ícone), animação 2D (cenário animado), arte e modelagem 3D (podendo ser uma animação ou um modelo estático 3D), uma história ou literatura (digitada ou escrita a mão), até mesmo, compor uma música (isso no meio artístico da Fandom ou Grupos de arte).

Sobre Arte – Troca (Art Trade):
Uma arte troca ou art trade já é claramente uma troca de arte, dois artistas combinam de desenhar algo (um para o outro) e trocam.
O intuito do art trade geralmente tem por objetivo que os artistas queiram ver como seria o seu personagem feito no estilo do outro, ou simplesmente ambos testarem suas habilidades ou fazer uma mera troca de arte no estilo do outro (ambos se presentearem com o trabalho um do outro).

Colaboração (Collab):
Nesse tipo de acordo, entre dois artistas, ambos se juntam para trabalhar em um mesmo projeto ou peça de arte, animação, etc.
Por exemplo, o artista A irá trabalhar no Sketch (rascunho) e lineart, enquanto o artista B irá trabalhar no fundo, na colorização e acabamento final da peça de arte.

Relembrando, o projeto em si pode ser uma peça de arte, animação ou até mesmo um projeto de game, o foco é que os envolvidos vão colaborar com alguma parte.
O ponto ruim da colaboração, é que ambos os envolvidos tem que trabalhar bem em equipe e cumprir prazos (opcional), se for o caso.

Pedidos (Request):
Um pedido ou request, funciona de forma similar a uma comissão, a diferença aqui é que é gratuito.
Sendo gratuito, o artista pode optar por fazer ou não fazer, não é algo obrigatório, já que aqui, ele não terá lucro envolvido (é algo que só é fortemente recomendado para artistas que tenham disponibilidade para fazê-lo, e também, para pessoas que de fato, não tem como pagar por comissões ( ̶c̶a̶s̶u̶a̶l̶m̶e̶n̶t̶e̶ ̶u̶s̶a̶d̶o̶s̶ ̶p̶o̶r̶ ̶p̶e̶s̶s̶o̶a̶s̶ ̶q̶u̶e̶ ̶n̶ã̶o̶ ̶q̶u̶e̶r̶e̶m̶ ̶p̶a̶g̶a̶r̶ ̶c̶o̶m̶i̶s̶s̶õ̶e̶s̶)).
O pedido (request) só é algo tido como obrigatório somente quando o artista se comprometer a fazer sorteios de arte (que também é algo recomendável para pessoas que não podem pagar por comissões).

Presente (Gift art):
Geralmente é um presente que um artista faz para outro artista ou para outra pessoa específica.
É preciso estar ciente de que a outra pessoa deve estar de acordo ou ser passível de acordo para isso (em geral, para um artista ou fã favorito, etc, geralmente alguém próximo).
Por mais nobre que seja a intenção, em muitos casos, deve-se deixar claro, para não haver enganos ou má interpretação por parte do terceiro a ser presenteado (em certos casos, pode até ser considerado roubo de arte ou tracing, dependendo do que o artista estiver fazendo).

Gift Art:

It is usually a gift that an artist makes to another artist or to another specific person.
