Process of creating a new account & Life Update
3 years ago
Dang it FASo I got fed up waiting for a name change feature to occur and I'll just up and create a new account fresh and new when user registration re-opens up. I've got a few plans for things getting set up and primarily it is to re-orient the direction of the gallery to focus more on higher quality items and submissions. The old account will remain open in the foreseeable future and I'll make sure to give you all plenty of up time for when I make the gallery move.
Dang it KirunoAs for the reason of why I am making a gallery move, the user name is painfully painfully outdated. It is based on an old username I picked during the gamer-forum days where usernames were always taken. Think of it as basically a guaranteed nobody-has-picked-this-name out without using a deliberate number like 022 or 141 at the end of the name. Those are gawdy. So whenever I log into my account or buy a commission and see my account name lashed onto it I feel like an immature 12 year old. It's really distressing and disgusting to be honest with you. Likewise being tied to the old gamer name I feel uncomfortable with uploading or dealing with any kind of Mature or Adult content. The gallery began as a purely SFW outlet and kept to that self-promise for over 10 years, the new gallery may have sections dedicated to the more spicy content. Failing that I'll make a dedicated AD account.
Dang it lifeI've been job hopping a few times over the years and I am now in a half decent job. It isn't the best or optimal of jobs as my income actually precludes me from even living in an apartment or owning a vehicle. All the bills added up with this lousy inflation I am down by $20,000 for any kind of reasonable living. So for the past 5 years I have been working my butt off around my location getting better pay. Hopefully I can get a job with an -actual- living wage and not the fake one we're advertised on TV. You really need $90,000 to actually be able to live comfortably independently without worries and I don't make anything near that at all!
The upside is that I have begun learning Blender and have been doing some tinkering in VR Chat. Distinct possibility but I may be able to do custom VRChat avatar commissions someday :).

"You really need $90,000 to actually be able to live comfortably independently without worries and I don't make anything near that at all!"
From a quick check - "Average salary in United States is $83,181 USD per year. The most typical earning is $52,000 USD."
Everyone you talk to is feeling the effects at the moment.
Mind you average is just an average. For one to say live in an apartment or their own home and have all amenities and a car requires $60,000 a year to make it through without going red. $90,000 is for say owning your own home and paying it off regularly and comfortably, along with everything else. So yeah many feel it.
And yes that makes sense, I think rent in particular is crazily expensive over there, I was shocked when I was told about it.
Agreed. Inflation is really eating into my wages these days, I have to hold off on more projects until my finances recover.
