what got you into hypnosis?

That is a very long story. I believe my first exposure to it was a saturday morning cartoon. the Sonic the Hedgehog series nicknamed SaTAM. That show had a hypnosis or mind control plot every other episode and I latched onto it very quickly. I tried writing a public hypnosis story when I was 18, and a fan of mine taught me my first hypnosis techniques. I then picked up a few books to read up on and the rest was history.

what kind of canine is he?

I revealed this a few month ago, I like keeping it intentionally vague because being a 'canine of sorts' is a generic enough term to keep his identity obscured, since there wouldn't be a point in the silhouette otherwise.

But he is a German Shepard/Golden retriever mix.

Darkwitt clearly is a part of something much bigger in shaping the world... but to what end? unity? the ability for the anthro race to spread to the stars, rather then slowly consumeing itself?

or is it purely about the control. being able to have the peices on his board and know what everything is doing, much less to the end goal.

Darkwitt struggles between the notion of altruism, equity, and the desire for control. He might seem to have all the answers but he's still a flawed person in his own ways.

Appreciate the heads up! im versed in some of the story, had no idea alot of it was all in one package.

Flaws are great for characters, helps make them feel more real :3 goes for villains, or anyone really.

Darkwitt runs the risk of being a godmodding character, consider he has the tropes of being both a mysterious mastermind and also subject to 'batman' syndrome where it seems like he has everything under control with enough prep time.

I try to make darkwitt flawed and dynamic out of necessity. The first big comic I made with him, he was accused of being that, and that never sat right with me.

He carries alot of power, alot of strength. i wouldent call it god modding however, since he is still anthro. (would say human but, i dont think that applys :P ) and im sure the more his story develops, the more these flaws may become apparant. hell, from what ive picked up with Hexan, hes quite the counter ballance to your Facilitator.

i did note at one point you had a reporter character to help develop the actions of orca groups, and possibly the actions of darkwitt as a whole... is that still a plan? or has the reporter been... welcomed into a loveing, chirping family. :3

Unfortunately the artist who initially planned to cover that character's story ran off with my money and has long since disappeared off of the internet.

It is sadly not the first time this has happened to me.

What is Darkwitt's ultimate goal?

I do tend to try and keep that obscure for the mystique of it all, but predominantly, he wants to help adjust the status quo of society to the point where everyone has a fair shake to influence the world for the better, and prevent people from taking measures to stagnate the evolution of said society.

Also to have a lot of control, but that's a private desire. :)

Personally, I'd like some clarification if he's a known ruler or force in the world, or more a secret manipulator of the usual leaders and shapers.

In some dimensional variants, he's a ruler in his own right. but in the Facilitator story, he works in the background.

But in all versions, he's usually the secret manipulator.

Consider the leaders and shapers of the worlds as kings, queens, bishops and rooks.... while Darkwitt is playing chess.

How does one start working for/with darkwitt? Is it something they're forced into or is it a mutual partnership (leaning more towards darkwitt's benefit)?

Often times they often have a lot of potential but are either held back by lack of resources, Difficult connections, or by the ire of someone who wishes ill on the person. Darkwitt reduces the barriers between them and their goals to see how they do. It's a gamble that doesn't always work out, but Darkwitt is great at replacing the problematic element without dismantling the infrastructure they built.

What Kind of things do the orca drones do for Darkwitt? surely they must have a role to play in his plans.

Orca drones in the warehouse typically perform construction, maintenance, assist researchers, and provide basic grunt work.


Out in the field, they maintain territory, patrol, ingratiate themselves with the locals, and actually use the various waterways to deliver Thermium as an affordable drug to some communities. They are usually presented as a local gang when they're out and about.

follow up question to this, Thermium. what are the medical purposes of this? obviously your drones are comprised of it, but what does it do for the average joe?

it has a few properties that give it lots of medical potential.
1. It reduces external stimuli to nothing. Great for a topical salve if you have a burn or something that needs to be sealed.
2. Only reacts to certain thought patterns in the nanite polymer, you could leave it blank and just use it as a reinforcement salve or something to reduce pain.
3. it reacts favorably to certain thought patterns, which while used for obedience training, can be configured to promote healthy habits or at the very least, discourage toxic ones.

Oh wow, the perfect item for a cast, or something to help with the healing process of a grevious wound. not only that, to help kick addiciton towards Nicotine, or somehting else that is driving the person to a unhealthy addiciton.

How does Darkwitt's hypnosis work? Like, sometimes all he seems to need to do is cover someone in his holoproxy to hypnotize them, other times he needs to put his mark on them to do it, still others he needs to do a whole process, using spirals and orca drones and what not

Darkwitt has multiple methods of performing hypnosis. Traditional, use of hypnotic patterns, audio frequencies. A lot of it is technical based. Much of the hypnosis performed is posthypnotic triggers. he can do plenty of short term methods, but for more involved procedures like holoproxies and the like, it requires either more dedicated, or more invasive methods.

Are any of his hypnosis methods permeant? Like, where he only needs to do one session on them and they're under his control forever?

Only if it involves direct stimulation of the brain.

Darkwitt often enjoys the slower development, where they surface just a little bit right before they fade away completely. Induction methods are quite varied, but his particular favorite is the identity shift, where they might start as one thing but by the time you're done, you barely recognize them.

Does he have a favorite target? Like a hero or something?

Who does Darkwitt target for "recruitment"? Does he tend to focus on bad people, or simply people who would benefit him regardless of morals?

Typically anyone that shows potential to enhance their industry, community, or government. This can be anyone from an up and coming politician, to a beat cop with the right ideals and motivations, to even a ruthless gangster willing to kill to keep his family safe.

It all depends on what will help further Darkwitt's goals, which often these pieces don't really get to see the full picture of.

Morality is relative depending on the society. Darkwitt has a staunch position about neutrality, but that is for the sake of long term benefits.

Sometimes a crime now might result in long term legislation in the future.

Considering how kinky a lot of the art in the gallery is, is that sexual openness - i.e., Club Neon - part of Darkwitt’s grand design, or just something for the audience/himself to enjoy the sight of while he works?

Darkwitt is a very voyeuristic individual. while most see his appearance as extremely conservative, that's more to personal taste. Canonically, Darkwitt finds that sexual openness and lack of inhibitions lends well to promote better communication, and reduce barriers for collaboration. Pleasure oriented motivation is also one of the easiest to implement that doesn't involve denial of basic needs (food, shelter, safety).

Also it's a good excuse to be horny as hell and have a little fun.

Darkwitt meets other versions of himself from other realities, how does he react, and how do they react? Do they work together to achieve their mutual goals? How would he react to a Darkwitt hell-bent on not only world domination, but the domination of all realities? And of course, how would he react to a Darkwitt who never took his path in life, and leads an otherwise simple and rewarding life?

I've dabbled with the idea of Darkwitt in other realities. Darkwitt is such a particular instance of events that he's quite unrecognizable in other realities. The ones that are close enough to the silhouette have, at worst a pact of nonaggression and at best a tentative cooperative working under the same goalset.

Darkwitt always did need copies of himself to get enough things done.

As for the dimensional variants of darkwitt. Many of them have gone under different titles on wildly different scales. the world dominator, Master imperium, as well as a stage of his life where he never left being an assassin.

Darkwitt meeting a version of himself in a simple life would be a tad envious, but it would not be a life he would ever consider.

Because Darkwitt doesn't exist without his ambition.

It would be fascinating to have a story with our Darkwitt meeting with and having a conversation with an alternate reality Darkwitt who never walked the path of ambition.

How many types of drones does Darkwitt have besides the Orcas?

And the all important question… Coke or Pepsi?

There's the Naga drones. The Husky Brigade, the Fang Helmets, the Greaser drones, the renadrones, the symbiotes, the orca hounds (different subset) The holoproxies, the thermium drones, the Vaimlings, the Kat, the Zentai Drones, the Songbirds, and the Lagomorphs.

So about 14? give or take a handful of ideas i've never posted?

Darkwitt can manipulate his holographic projector to oscillate various frequencies and patterns if desired. but the classic eye stare never fails.
