TL:DR I am fine, just nowhere near a place where I can work. I have a grand support system and will be back in full force in may.

This didn't turn out the way I wanted.

I was slated to provide location sound on a feature length movie in the woods. a little outside my usual wheelhouse but it was a project I was very fond of and the pay seemed good. So I signed on.

Ten days later, they laid me off.
The production turned out to be way more than I or the rest of the sound team were ready for and we needed more staff. we were also out in the freezing rain every day with no heaters, very little shelter, and no warm food for most of the shoot.

by the 8th day, the producer asked me if I was willing to work for free due to budget cuts. I couldn't feasibly justify that, so I have left the set. Unfortunately because my flight is locked in until may, I am stuck couch surfing with generous friends while I nurse a cold and find a way to make up for thousands in lost wages.

It's not ideal, but I want it to be known the crew were nothing but respectful, friendly, and I'd be glad to work with them another time. assuming the check clears.

When I get home I may want to do a stream for voice requests for others to help make up for the lost money. I dunno if anyone would be interested in such a thing, but I've never done stream requests before like that. I wouldn't know where to begin.
