Is shit boring enough yet?

My Politics and Social views are ideas that I believe work. If something does not work I call it out.
I want to say that after a year of one flop after another, people’s narcissistic bs reminds me of that scene in Batman.
“It’s not about the money, it’s about sending a message!”
People have heard that message and it smells like useless.
What is your favorite thing that got shot to shit?
Star Wars, The Witcher, LOTR or Buzz Lightyear?
I seen Maverick. Lots of member berries with cool jet scenes but nothing all that. Still it was quality!
I am starting to wonder if putting in the gayness is just to cover for garbage tier writing ! Of course it’s hard to feel sorry for the writers when they talk with contempt about the source and fans.
Henry Cavill left Witcher and lost Superman.
GOOD FOR HIM!
Now he’s doing Warhammer 40k.
Considering he actually paints 40k miniatures I think he will do a good job!

Needless to say, I am expecting the worst.....at least I won't be surprised.
I hear games workshop is going woke but wait to see…
I find the LGB characters in general to be cringy and are representative of LGBT activists who make their sexual orientation their identity: shallow. It just doesn't fit.
Honestly at this point anything the wokies touch to elevate "marginalized" classes they ruin. Then throw a fit as to why their cringy shit is failing and just blame nonsense like white supremancy, Republicans, heterosexuals, etc etc etc...everyone but themselves and writers writing cringe and expecting the mainstream to love it.
Once writers go back to writing stories that don't straight up pander to the far left the better off we will all be. Clearly LGBT representation isn't all it's cracked up to be in the end now that we have tried it. That and we are now being overrepresented these days. Its like every production must have their token LGBT characters including gender confused nobodies that just do not add any value to these stories.
I will also add that they just have shit writers these days. Clearly Affirmative Action hires who can't write for shit and depend on the virtue signalling cred to carry the production forward. This is what happens when you hire unqualified people just so they feel included.
I am hoping to make some cool non grooming gay characters!
There are plenty of examples of "muh diversity" in all media types, which end up being great examples. People don't throw hissy fits over them.
Yet any time these end up being shit movies, or games, or books, whats the first thing jumped to in an attempt to downplay it? slap an ism, ist, or ic on the critics, call it a day.
one of the first very prominent LGBTQ Star Wars characters was featured in 2003's Knights of the Old Republic.
so, to summarize things:
LGBTQ representation in Star Wars isn't a new.
its been going on for at least 20 years.
it wasn't an issue then, its not an issue now.
its not a big deal and if you want to complain about it, you're 20 years to late.
my advice?
get over yourself and move with your life. you are not going to fall over dead because you might see an LGBTQ Star Wars character or two pop up somewhere.
on a more positive note: the upcoming Star Wars Jedi Survivor looks just as awesome as Jedi Fallen Order so the future for Star Wars looks bright.
A while ago I might have answered your question differently, but I am changing.
Simply put, if I hear anything new is good from sources I trust, I may give it a look.
But nothing they do will take anything away from the things I liked in the past. Just for example, I will keep enjoying to watch the original Star Wars trilogy as well as the books and comics I have.
Anything new has to stand on it's own feet. And I will penny- as well as timepinching everything. I won't give them as little money and time as possible to see if it is good enough to give it my full attention.
I will also do my best to ignore brand recognition and nostalgia, which they use to bait us.
If it's not for me, why should I even care?
Sure, I would like to see more good Star Wars and stuff from other Franchises, but I don't need it.
And as I'm old enough to appreciate older material that has not state-of-the-art CGI (if it has that), I know that there are enough movies, shows, books and other media I have never seen to fill several lifetimes.
Not to mention that there are quite a few I can dig out from my collection to watch/read again.
It's about the money. My time and my money and I can send a message without spending anything of either.
In the meantime I will see what I can do to support independent or small-time creators that create stuff I like.
So, where did I put the 'Flash Gordon (1980) and the 'Flash Gordon: The Greatest Adventure of All' (1979-1982) DVDs?
<insert Ming the Merciless' laughter: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_QC7uMo1uPQ >
I've never seen anyone articulate that mindset this way and I think you're right; I'm starting to ken to it myself as the years go by. Like sort of a mental 'attic cleaning'. Stick with what you know is good and give your time and money to what you know won't disappoint you.
I still like to give things a chance though. Sometimes even if they fail you can still see a kind of underlying greatness. It's how I came to be more accepting of the prequel trilogy over the years, even though like most at the time I was not enthused with it. I could see what Lucas was going for, even if he missed his mark. And like, my favorite band...they're still going at it even though their music isn't as popular. Perhaps too much time has passed for their stuff to be hits (or even appear on the radio) but it's still the same people behind the writing and you can still tell where they've been to get to where they are now with their skill.
Thankfully more studios are going more WOKE, than broke!!
Star Wars, Oh gee, support the patriarchy , At least the last couple films had a strong female lead along with the Kenobi series. Plus light sabers are just phallic items.
Films need to be more like Steven Universe, not John Wayne shooting indigenous people.
And don't get me started on that Harry Potter shitshow, JK Rolling is a TERF!!
At least The Northman was good. lol
Game of Thrones (the final two Seasons), was another. STILL love the books, and hate Martin even more for failing to write/release the last one(s), after a DECADE?! wth dude! He's gonna keel over from a heart attack before we ever see the thing?!
I'm barely into the 'Marvel/DC' stuff, but there are some I really like. Seeing them malignantly warp cherished characters (yet again), as they shovel their *WOKE* stupidity at every opportunity? No. I'm not paying $$$ or investing my time in gender-re-assigned Characters, or with them being portrayed under a different skin hue either. I'm sick of that shit past all tolerance!
Luckily, we still and will always have the 'Classics' in both cinema and literature, and I'm not surrendering any of my own library/collection!
Ah, well.
For the few good, bright shining lights out there (Mr. Cavill, Cruise, a few others)?
There's still HOPE?!
Film at 11. https://youtu.be/Bz8t8TGsPDQ
oh wait, you're referring to the Netflix stuff?
why?
that shit can't hold up to the quality and awesomeness of the CD:PR video games and is a bad adaption in general. the only people who care about that crap are incel losers.
go and play the video games instead, especially Witcher 3 Wild Hunt. so much better...
oh! I almost forgot!
there's a fun anime The Witcher anime movie about a young Vesemir, that one is pretty cool.
its called Nightmare of the Wolf.
LotR is overrated anyways, i mean i get why its important in fantasy nerd history and the movie trilogy is classic... but DnD is just so much better and we got The Legend of Vox Machina as an awesome adaption for a Critical Role campaign for that... the new DnD movie looks also very promising.
Star Wars... what is your beef with Star Wars? Mandalorian is awesome, Book of Boba Fett is good if not quite as awesome, Jedi Fallen Order was awesome, in just a few short months we get the sequel Jedi Survivor which looks just as good if not better... Star Wars future looks pretty bright.
and Buzz Lightyear... seriously, what's your beef with that? are you also one of those incel losers who are offended because of that one single 5 second scene where two girls kiss?
so yeah
maybe try not to be a miserable misanthrope all the time?
Henry Cavill is the kind of actor that will lead the future of Hollywood or be a star in Hollywoods replacement.
