Dead is Bored...
And bored is Dead. And Dead hates only a few things more than being bored. So, Dead had an idea that sounded entertaining:
Honestly, had this idea for a little while but what got me to act on it was that wholesome ad that's floating around that was put out by
. If you haven't seen it yet, the ad is Deadish riding a conveyor belt essentially telling you not to worry about view counts and just keep posting whatever it is you like to post (something I've needed to be told multiple times already (you know who you are)). It ends with a quick little "spread the love" message and that's basically what this journal is going to be because I like talking about things I enjoy.
*Addendum - journal has since been updated with Personal Favorites (PF) as way of recommendation*
Since I started my little adventure on FA pretending I know how to write (I don't, but pretending's fun), let's start with some of my favorite writers:
- The first person I ever spoke to on the site, my unofficial writing coach, and the grandmaster of description and detail. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Helix is capable of giving you an entire Hollywood blockbuster movie in about three hundred.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49637065/
- His Thursday Prompts are always a great way to get a quick laugh as he seems to love light-hearted jokes and playing with reader expectations. He often times posts his other lengthier works and his own personal shorts which keep you wondering what's coming next.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49847457/
- Head of the Thursday Prompt group and proprietor of the Whackadoodle Inn. Vixyy's stories are entertaining with light-hearted jokes but also maintains a degree of relatability that makes the reader reflect a bit on their own thoughts and experiences.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50068377/
- Pretty much the whole reason I even started actually posting to the Thursday Prompt and talking to others on the site. I'm a huge fan of their ongoing story "Ghost in the Machine" for its conflicting dark and cheery chapters, but loved their romantic "If Only for a Night" saga. I am absolutely, one-hundred-percent definitely ninety-six-percent certain that this artic fox is NOT an AI... anybody else hear beeping?
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49917311/
- Host of the blog "Life with a Werewolf" which is filled with all sorts of fun adventures and wacky characters that is sure to keep you invested. I actually saw a comment a while back that said something to the effect that Lu's blog is great for jumpstarting the imagination and I couldn't agree more with that statement.
PF - His blog in general, but this is probably his most heart-wrenching piece with which I can personally relate: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/49882142/
- Met through the Thursday Prompt and I really enjoy their contributions each week. Usually kept fairly brief, Silent still manages to give you enough detail to picture the entire story as if you were in the room as it unfolds.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50231860/
- I actually already recommended his work, but I'll do it twenty more times if I need to. Although he's only posted one story on his page, I thoroughly enjoyed it (I've read through it in its entirety three times now (I tend to obsess over things I like to a, quite frankly, unhealthy degree)).
PF - The whole story in general but here's a link to the first chapter: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50531975/

If one were to comb through my favorites page, they'd probably find most of the stuff I favorite is music and this site has no shortage of talented mucisians:
- Why are you still here? This wolf's music is so good you should be listening to it right now and not reading this. I haven't been through all of it, but I've yet to find a single track that I don't immediately fall in love with. I highly recommend setting aside an afternoon just to listen to his piano pieces. On loop.
PF - ALL OF IT......... (I guess I should pick one: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/4201686/)
- Go with me on this one: Wirez is basically that popular ice cream parlor downtown that everybody loves because it's got over 600 different flavors, generous portion sizes, and the walls are decorated with cute animal photos. He's got a little something for everyone who enjoys music (and cute animal photos).
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/14530382/
- If you told me that Yagami's music was a part of a new triple A videogame's soundtrack or from some hit movie, I'd believe it. Often times, I'll close my eyes while listening to his stuff and it's like I can see the music creating a fitting scene in my head.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/48893099/
- Similar to Yagami, Nojiyu's work wouldn't be out of place in a videogame, but there's a distinct preference for old school rpg style soundtracks. Also has what I think might be the coolest inspirational quote ever on their userpage (not sharing what it is because I want you to check them out sometime).

Since it's probably clear that I enjoy practicing pixel art, I've also scouted out a few, real pixel artists that leave me both green with envy over how talented they are and inspired to keep working on my own silly little attempts at being artistic:
- Basically what I wish I could do. Makes pixel art seem easy by keeping things relatively simple looking, but then goes and adds in enough detail and superb effects to make your eyes go wide like an enchanted child watching their first fireworks show.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45704762/
- Again, basically what I wish I could accomplish. The level of detail put into these pieces is entirely immaculate; I can scarcely imagine how long it takes to finally perfect each individual frame.

Alright, that's probably more than anybody expected (or cared) to hear from me. I'll either tack onto this journal later as I find more works that I enjoy or make a part 2 (deciding on that is future Dead's problem).
Thanks all for stopping by, hope you have a great day.

btw coincidentally I've just posted a journal with a link to a reading of 'If Only for a Night...'
Thank you for the high and kind praise and words, but I tend to hit stride at about 2,500 words.
I am happy you have found your niche here.
*raises an eyebrow...

It's hard for me to believe that my music from over a decade ago is worth a listen, much less a fave. Almost harder to believe that even though I perhaps don't put as much effort into music creation as I should, I am still much more skilled in composing than I was back then. It feels almost exactly the same. I think I just learned to take my time and let the music flow out at its own pace rather than rush it.
Thank you, ftd.
