Dead is Bored... 5

Last time on "Dead is Bored...": https://www.furaffinity.net/journal/10774642
Been a little while, but this is just a short list of shout outs to some writers, musicians, and artists I've found and enjoy the work of.
*PF - personal favorites recommended by FtD to give anyone interested a starting point*
First things first: tipping my hood to
,
, and
for this one; a huge congratulations to:
HelixTheFallen for having completed a series of short stories named Interludes revolving around his fun and lovable cat-witch, Fey, as she goes about her, for lack of a better word, unique life.
Shorts have been divided into individual posts in owner's gallery, but here is a link to the all-in-one post: https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56710054/
Next, a list of other authors who are working on (or even completed) some interesting or fun novels that I'm slowly working my way through. Please excuse my poor summarization of the stories listed below; I certainly do not do the works the justice they deserve but do assure anyone reading this that they are well worth your time. Links go to first chapter of respective novels.
(&
but it's on the former's page) - "The Trials of Erlandia (The Chief Stoker)" (Book 1 of 3): An English ship under a suave and experienced captain is on a journey to post-civil war North America with some "interesting" cargo and some "sociable" passengers.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/37770952/
(actually included in previous "Dead is Bored..." but I hadn't realized it was an ongoing novel at the time) - "Astray": A space-faring, sci-fi drama revolving around a crew of lions with a simply captivating prologue with some heavy and dark elements.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55332451/
- "SOULLESS": Upon waking up in a laboratory without his memory, a dragon-like creature finds that not just the scientists and staff have taken interest in his very existence. Aside from the enthusiastic laboratory employees, some force with substantial authority has taken special interest in the unfortunate creature who cannot even recall his own past. Without knowing who or what is after him, the dragon-like being is quickly thrown into a riveting and death-defying sci-fi adventure on a quest for answers.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55406061/
- "Princess Tells Her Story": An exciting and engaging fantasy adventure told from the perspective of a friendly, talking dragon that is content to be a novice mage's loyal sidekick.
https://www.furaffinity.net/view/45521233/
In addition to the above, I'd also like to refer anyone reading through this to the following writers that I've found either through the
or other means.

I haven't really been exploring new musicians lately as I've been trying to consume entire galleries of those I've shout out previously. Below are the musicians that I've finally finished sampling all of the content at least in their respective main galleries (some have some scraps pages I need to revisit).
- I'm not too big on rock/metal, but the lighter pieces are relaxing and inspire some vivid scenes in my head.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/52549735/
- Wonderful orchestral tracks that seem to play out entire stories without words.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55593355/
- Included in the first iteration of "Dead is Bored..." and I will say it again: Wirez has a bit of everything for anyone who enjoys music (and cute animal photos). So many different tracks that it is honestly hard to pick a favorite, though for me it is definitely one of the piano pieces.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/46241618/
And I am currently on a quest to listen to everything in
's gallery... there's a lot (but it is all quite enjoyable, indeed (PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/50130009/).

Lastly, some artists I've found that have some simply incredible artwork (and some fun animations, too).
- Working on an intriguing fantasy comic that I'm a bit interested in seeing where things go after its intense introduction.
Link to first page of comic - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/55582053/
(also known as Elk) - Met through
's weekend streams and is both a quickly developing artist with a penchant for foxes (especially fennecs) and a pleasant individual to chat with.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56364661/
- Found through
as they did the cover art for Mekanip's novel "A Chronicle of Lies"; most impressive CG (computer generated) artwork.
PF - https://www.furaffinity.net/view/56487644/
- Talented artist that might enjoy the DragonScape universe (Drekir) created by
. Most incredible artwork and fun animations.

Apart from the above shout-outs, I wanted to also take a minute to confusedly celebrate having broken 5000 page views. I'm going to emphasize the "confusedly" in that celebration as the nature of having reached 5000 views is... a little strange to me.
Before I go any further, just a quick note: after a discussion with AndreaJae some time ago now, I recognize that I shouldn't allow the numbers to be my motivation for creating. Still though, that doesn't mean that I don't get a thrill thinking someone else read over one of my dumb stories or took the time to watch one of my stupid pixel art gifs.
With that out of the way, the cause for confusion is the random spike in views my page and past two posts have received. My past two Thursday Prompt posts each received over 500 views in under 48 hours for whatever reason when usually it takes me a full week just to break 100 views on a post. Similarly, my page view count jumped from ~4800 before my latest post to over 5300 at the time of writing this (and a similar jump with the previous post). I'm just baffled as to where that's coming from; nothing I post is really that good or really worth anyone's time, I just enjoy making things. I'm honestly kind of wondering if something is inflating my view count... is someone pranking me?
Whatever the case may be, it was just something I noticed and quirked a brow at wondering what was happening. Having passed 5000 page views is a neat milestone and one I truly hadn't ever anticipated reaching. I would like to take a moment to thank anyone reading over this for simply stopping by: thank you very much for just being here reading over my nonsense. Whether you choose to read through any of my amateur stories or check out any of my silly pixel art attempts, it really does mean a lot you'd just stop by.
Somewhat sleepy and still baffled, but grateful,
FtD

Congrats on your 5,000 page view. A nice milestone. As for the random stories views. Both are pretty solid from you. Coldblooded is one of my favorites by you. Not only solid writing, but solid story with purpose. Sometimes things work in mysterious ways. The few stories that ever generated that fast were niche kink or collabed with a very loved artist. Well, enjoy it as everyone deserves some views.
Having reached this milestone is neat, for sure, just entirely unexpected in such a short span of time. I'm very glad to hear that you enjoyed that piece, it could still use a bit of work but I certainly had fun putting it together.
It is. Its cool to see and eventually you just stop caring.
wow, this is quite the shout out all the way around - we all appreciate it...

If anything, I do apologize for not having done this batch of shout outs sooner.
bummer...
goodgoodgoodygood and good...

I'm just as confused as you, I feel like 100 views is a lot but the last story I posted is at almost 500 lol. No idea why...... but I can't imagine they are all actually reading it. Personally I'm a sucker for comments. If someone leaves a comment I know they read it... so that's my little slice of joy with each "C" I see.
Fully understand and agree: no chance something I posted actually had 500 people read over it. That doesn't really bother me though; to be entirely honest, I hadn't intended to make a mention of having reached 5000 views but when I got those bizarre spikes I couldn't help but express some confusion over it.
All in all, I'm just grateful for anyone who does take the time to read something I put together. A comment is nice, but I'm happy just thinking that what put out there is being silently enjoyed, or at the very least simply glanced at, by someone.
Anyways, hope to see more stories from you soon.
Also, it's a good thing
Final observation, I also watch
Please do check some of them out if you have the opportunity; it's all been absolutely incredible.
A shame about Elk not always reading, I had left that in purposefully hoping to get a rise out of him. Oh well, I suppose. Perhaps next time then.
I did not know that about
If you get caught up and still want more, you might like "Exodimensional Hoofbun Flopsy" (if you like superhero stuff, a Terra-made Living Construct trapped on Earth) and/or "Modern Major Yinglet" (a Out of Placers fanfic, a human on modern Earth gets turned into a yinglet and must deal with all the Fun that entails).
I'm currently working on the next Princess chapter, but things have been... rough, the last couple months. Health issues have been solidly in the way for two months now. I haven't even been able to read stuff, such as yours, because I've been in such bad shape. Hopefully I can get to work on my backlog of stuff to read soon! ^_^;;
I'm afraid I don't know the exact details, but I have heard you haven't been feeling well lately through the "A Chronicle of Lies" discord server. I hope things start to get better for you soon so you can focus more on your works and perhaps another Zelda randomizer stream (managed to catch one sometime ago and it was a good time). Though, please don't worry about reading my stuff, it's all amateur at best and not really worth the time; I do very much appreciate the sentiment all the same though, thanks much for that.
Good news, the procedure I got on Monday is improving things a lot.
Short answer: I have a condition called Autoimmune Autonomic Ganglionopathy. My autoimmune system attacks my autonomic nervous system, causing all sorts of issues. One of the places that was hit the hardest was the nerves in the digestive system, resulting in being unable to feel hunger, and having a constant pain in the lower right abdomen. One of the main ways that pain is lessened is through a procedure called a Celiac Plexus Nerve Block, where a numbing agent is injected into the spine.
However, the clinic I've been going to has been abhorrent lately. Three of the previous four nerve blocks used a partial dose. Previously, they used 10 of 0.25% Bupivacaine. But they switched to using 0.375% Bupivacaine, so they lowered the dosage to 5 mL. The first time, I can understand because that was likely as close as they could get to the normal dosage, and also without going over. The second time, I can understand, because they didn't have a good way to know the previous dose was ineffective. But then after using 10 mL, it was inexcusable that they used 5 again. It was also inexcusable that they never at any point told me anything was changing, which is why I couldn't report the first dose as insufficient.
I had hesitated to request another block, due to the complete lack of trust, and when I finally did, it took them a long time to actually perform it. They normally last 6-8 weeks, with the 5 mL doses lasting even less. It was 19 weeks between procedures this time.
Going forward, I will be going to a better clinic which should be MUCH more reliable. I've already gotten set up, I've already spoken to the doctor, and I have far more confidence in the new place than the old. For one thing, the doctor was appalled at the treatment I had gotten so far. "10? 5? I usually do 20. Granted, it's 20 of the 0.25%, but that's still better. Also, you're supposed to inject into both sides of the spine, I can't believe he was only doing one side. You can't get the entire nerve that way!"
The last few months, I've only been able to get about 1-2 hours of sleep a night, before the pain becomes too much and all I can do is doze off for 15-30 minutes, wake up, roll over, and fall asleep again. It's also been utterly excruciating, especially as there are a few triggers that worsen the pain.
But yeah, finally doing better, now I get to try to catch up with a lot of stuff. I'd love to do more streams as well. The "crazy settings" randomizer did pretty well, though the SMZ3 Keysanity stream did not. Possibly because I didn't spend as much time hyping it up, possibly because it was a different day of the week. ^.^;;
I'll look forward to being able to catch any future Keysanity streams, or any streams in general, as I am able.
