Are you interested in a writing workshop?

Heya!
Since you’re here, you’d probably know who I am, but just in case you’re not familiar, I’m TwistedSnakes, a writer on FurAffinity and other platforms. I’ve been writing on and off since 2013, but since 2017, I’ve taken up writing as a more serious hobby. Over the years, I’ve had a few people ask me to teach them writing, give them feedback on their stories, and share my tips. I figured a workshop would be a good way to help a bunch of people at once, as well as allow you guys to help each other out with feedback.
Would you guys be interested in a writing workshop? The lessons will be beginner-friendly, so if you’ve always wanted to get into writing but don’t know how to, this will be a good place to start! If you’ve been writing for years, you’re welcome to join, too! I’ll be sharing my writing tips and techniques that you can apply to your own writing too.
Pre-requisites
• Grasp of basic English (sentence structure, simple grammar). Don’t worry if you’re not confident, there’s Grammarly to help you out!
• Access to Discord (the classes will be held on Discord).
• Google Docs (highly recommended to make it easier for me to give feedback).
Syllabus
The lessons will be 1-hour sessions over Discord each week. The syllabus is still a work-in-progress, but the rough outline would be something like this:
• Week 1: Getting started (writing platform, grammarly, etc)
• Week 2: Setting the scene (description, landmarks)
• Week 3: Introducing a character
• Week 4: Movie Method
• Week 5: Character Interactions (creating chemistry, avoiding head-in-a-box)
• Week 6: The Hook
• Week 7: Clean writing (avoiding filler words, improving readability)
• Week 8: Info-trickling (avoiding info-dumps, weaving information into a story)
• Week 9: Creating tension
• Week 10: Plot & pacing (architects vs gardeners, basics of outlining)
• Week 11: Worldbuilding
• Week 12: Writing a book
• (I may come up with more lessons along the way)
Homework Exercises
There will be exercises after each class to practice the new knowledge, but I’ll keep them short and doable — 15-30 minutes if you rush, but you can definitely work on it for 2-3 hours if you feel inspired to expand on the idea.
If you are interested, fill in this form and join the Discord for updates.
