2.7 Nonsense - Itaku & where to find me
2 years ago
I'm not particularly keen on the direction this website is taking, for reasons that lots of other artists have articulated way better than I can. I am exceptionally displeased with the response from FA staff here, on twitter, and in their Discord server.
Unfortunately, I'm in a tight spot as someone who relies on my platform here for income, I can't readily just pack up and leave. Especially since a majority of my audience is here.
Aside from FA, my most active 'gallery' is my Discord server and other communities I spend a lot of time in. I've been posting a lot to Telegram as well since I made the new channel.
I'm not a fond fan of twitter, I struggle to keep up with the fast pace of the interactions there. As it is I'm a semi-frequent lurker to keep an ear to the community and what's being talked about, but that's about it. I am heavily considering moving a lot of my content over there in the coming weeks to expand beyond FA and the slippery slope they're sliding down. I also am not particularly keen on the community that is curated on InkBunny, even if they have a functional blacklist and are only 18+. I sure know a lot of other artists who feel the same way.
I'd honestly really love to move entirely to Itaku, their policies are sane, and their interface is robust for most needs in the community.... but the userbase there is incredibly small. Lack of engagement and audience has kinda left me not posting there nearly as much as I'd like, and a lot of other artists are simply using it as backup these days.
So that begs the question for everyone else, not just us artists: What would it take for you to move websites? Where would you prefer to go?

Maybe this will be what it takes for a critical mass migration, but I feel like that's hopeful thinking. ;v;
However, I will subscribe to your DiSever
If you mean the safety feature requiring that discord accounts are verified, I have had issues with server raids/griefing in the past.
If you ban me, I will still be able to log in from 5 other accounts.
I just don't need this extra red tape, and I just don't want to leave digital traces.
No offense, it's just inconvenient and it's not necessary. It's not so much you as discord that needs it anymore.
Honestly the uncertaintly that they've provided really ought to get other artists to move too. I'm sure once they start handing out bans well...ya
I agree that we don't have many other options to go to sadly. Twitter isn't even an art website, it's just an unsorted mess of post, some of which have to do with art and there is no gallery system or so, which is a basic requirement to me.
