Con Report, Furlandia 2023, part one.

Being taught to avoid talking about Politics and Religion has led to a lack of understanding of Politics and Religion. What we should have been taught was how to have a civil conversation about a difficult topic.
Went to Furlandia 2023, Portland Oregon's Furry Convention at the Portland Airport Sheraton Hotel.
The drive down was uneventful, but after I crossed the I-5 bridge between Washington and Oregon got blithely lost. a kind soul took pity on me and showed me how to get to the hotel. I thanked him profusely and if I ever need what his business sells, he will certainly hear from me. This year, the Con-com
showed their appreciation, (and perhaps cold not find anyone to be GOH and made the attendees the GOH) for this year. Myself I was just happy to go to the con.
I enjoyed seeing familiar authors whom I will name later. I bought stickers, and thanks to one of my friends who was the author of the Talk @$% get bit stickers, came up with a feline version, which uses the phrase, "Hiss Off" I like that. certainly sounds feline.
Weasels on Easels were there, and they are delightfully getting bigger as the years go on. I am profoundly happy for them and bought a Unicorn figurine from them.
I attended one panel, about writing, and gained insight as to how my favorite authors write. will come in handy.
Saw my favorite Goat, who goes by the name of Clopan. there were many fine fursuits this year, many with LED lighting. most just make good oversized heads.
Dealers room was fun, the hotel's restaurant, Rose and Compass, served fine foods for the con's visitors.
much more later.

Looking at your icon... Max Goathead?
Love you still.

The "Clopan Jr." I had in tow with me is actually Serena Kitty's kid, who I met when he was about 1. He's now 14 and exploring the fandom for himself. He took naturally to fursuiting and handled everything really well.
It would be awesome to see your unicorn come to life as a suit. I don't see a horse head base from Weasels on Easels specifically, but I know CityMutt fursuits offers one and so do some folks on Etsy.
And yes, my icon is Max Headbutt. Thanks for noticing!
Be well.
