I just want a record here of how happy I am right now.
Today, as an early birthday present to myself (July 6th), I went horseback riding for the first time.
I was placed upon Willie, a very gentle former carriage horse who had also done therapy work. He had one eye and
just the sweetest personality. I really couldn't have asked for a better experience, especially because he was the one
I saw on the ranch's website and wanted to ride. My partner got to ride the wonderful Blackjack, which was the horse
he wanted to ride, too! We went through a beautiful nature preserve and it was something I really hope I get to do more
regularly.
In addition, I posted the first photos of my new partial suit online today, and people really seem to like her! I'm so happy
with what the maker was able to produce, especially with how well she matches my favorite badge.
Finally, as of this afternoon, I received an email of another short story acceptance! This time it's a small publication, but
no less encouraging and exciting and humbling. I can only hope, after receiving two more rejections in the last two days,
this marks the beginning of a turning point for me.
