I've stuck with Patreon but don't think I have anything against Ko-fi. Patreon did have an annoying glitch that screwed with my bank recently so they have that against me IMO.

It's not just you. Patreon switched their processing from California to Ireland this month unannounced and it tripped the anti-fraud protections for a lot of banks. Quite a few people got screwed over it.

Yep that's why I'm hesitant to return to it. It's more well known but it's really stepped into proverbial crap multiple times lately.

Yeah...I am actually prevented from using it because they want my ID to prove that I am not a five-year-old or something, their third party verification system isn't working for me, and their support has been less than helpful. Granted, it might be because I was using the opportunity to sound off my frustration and anger with all the scummy things that the platform has done over the past few years, but yeah, Patreon broke itself in a way that I can't use it anymore without some equipment upgrades.

Well, Both have their issues, but I prefer using Patreon as my main platform and use Ko-Fi as a Tips Jar.

It's free to use, it is very easy to set up commission forms, and you keep 100% of the profit you make (they add the processing fee to the client side for you.)

I don't really need a site or platform to help getting commissions, I'm trying to find alternative content that will allow me to make art that I enjoy doing, that people want to see (unlike adoptables) that can still pay my bills. But thanks for the suggestion. :)

KoFi cause it’s not complete trash like Patreon.

I have a Patreon, but I think I’ve been relatively lucky and avoided a lot of issues. I still had to do the whole damn id thing, that pissed me off, but I’d have Patreon for years so I didn’t wanna uproot my patrons to somewhere else. It works for me just, but I know a lot of artists use ko-fi and that sounds nice and easy to use in a similar way.

As for rewards, I like seeing artists offer their wip steps and insights into how they create a pic. On mine I offer Magma Draw sessions and/or study sessions on Discord, which is always fun.

It's a browser based art program, it lets multiple people draw together. It's pretty fun when you get a few artists together.
