New Year, Same Idiot. (2024 Update)

Oh boy, time for your annual reminder that I exist.
Gonna frontload the TL;DR;
-Been busy as FUCK trying to get things together IRL. Someone put a ring on it, and I'm moving country.
-Tired of being as isolated as I've been, gonna try and post here more.
-Haven't drawn much of anything, so it'll mostly just be stuff I've comm'd or gifted / gotten as rewards etc.
-Stuff promised in the past (certain comics and character stuff) fell through, so if you're wondering "hey what happened to [thing?] it didn't wind up happening. Sorry if that's a letdown, stuff happens.
-Need to finish an art trade. So posting at least one thing I actually drew.
-Gonna try and post 1 thing a week in 2024.

So, where've I been? Well, short answer, stuck in place. Bit of a 'cheetah on a treadmill' situation where I've been moving real fast to end up going nowhere.
Got engaged a little over a year ago (I know, right?). And I know what some of you might be thinking, "oh, they got hitched so no more alien porn right?" Nope, far from it. My other half's as much a deviant perv as I am, so they fully encourage it and approve. I really hit the jackpot, huh. So yeah, "IRL", I'm off the market (sorry boys ~) but ya can lust over my various alien OC's to your heart's content, I'm the one tying the knot, they get tied in knots and / or knotted.
Anyways, it's been a long distance thing, and I'm looking to fix that, so the bulk of my energy the past year or so has been spent chasing down a Visa. Which- the last few months specifically, has been a huge headache and yeah, I'll admit, bad for my morale. I'll spare you the details, but it's an endless series of chasing down documents, booking appointments, having those appointments re-scheduled, cancelled or put on indefinite wait, like those fucking endless stairs from Mario 64, you know you're MOVING but feels like the goal is endlessly moving away from you.
Was hoping to be done with this around now, but realistically, it's gonna be March, optimistically. The realist in me says April, the pessimist says May.
This has also been why I haven't been commissioning art as much as I used to. Trying to buckle down and save cash while I still have my current job, seeing how I'll be quitting it and having to find a new one after I move, and moving itself is gonna be a costly headache.
I still do commission people, got 3 or 4 things I'm waiting on right now. But I know how this time of year gets, everyone's busy with something or other, so I'm content to wait my turn.
Gonna try and keep the focus of this gallery on my Halo OC's (with the occasional blue gal, since I know she's got a small following too).
I've also got that one Tiefling OC too, which yeah, lots of art of her now, blame my Fiance for being a kind soul who comms people waaaay more than I do... but I know this ain't really the place for a boring old humanoid like her, so I'll only post art of them when Twitter eventually goes under. Or put the stuff I can get away with on Tumblr, since a lot of it isn't toooo spicy.
I don't wanna be "that bitch" who just dumps like 50 things on y'all's inboxes at once and becomes a nuisance. So let's say my New Year's resolution for 2024 will be to post at least one thing from my 2022/23 backlog a week, starting tonight, until the majority of what I've comm'd is up here. I am- historically, bad at this, so keep me honest, okay? Don't let me wriggle outta this one. You know I'm squirmy ~
Speaking of promises, I know this time last year I mentioned a bunch of little comics and micro-projects in the works. Well, they're not. Least not officially. So can't make any garauntees about them. Artist responsible did send me a lot of REALLY nice sketches though, so maybe once my backlog's cleared, I might go in and try colouring 'em myself, since honestly, I really enjoy colouring and shading, I just suck at actually doing the lines from scratch. So with permission, I dunno, might be a fun pet project to resharpen my skills.
Only thing I'm currently working on is an art trade for a pal, which is already stupid late as is. A constantly shifting work schedule and RL obligations with Visa hunting have kept me too preoccupied to work on it as much as I'd like. But I'll get it done, 100% promise. Just might have to scale it back a bit since I reeeally bit off more than I could chew on this one, making it stupid huge and overambitious.
Also just gonna say it-
I hope you weren't tired of the 'yellow hazmat suit' stuff, because it's not going anywhere. Like- almost half my backlog is my various OC's in that suit style. Heck I've seen a lot more people doing the same kinda theme ever since Lethal Company went viral. Guess I was ahead of the curve, eh? (heh, curves).
Anyways, hope y'all didn't miss me too much.
PS: my inbox has like near 2000 submisisons, so if I didn't comment or fave your work, trust me, it ain't you, it's me, I have got to devote a weekend to clearing that out at some point.

All very good stuff! Excited to see what comes week after week, I know I’m going to be doing much the same this year with my posts =v=; after last year just sucking wind for me right up until finally the tail end of it, I’m finally in a spot to actually WANT to get stuff out, so here’s hoping we both stick to it and get at least most of it out to the world XD.
