IF and only if you can provide something making money worth while.
If its "Give me money for more commissions with a little writing" of a mind set: then no, not gonna spend money on that, rather use said money on my own commissions.

If you want a Pateron because you want want to make a fiction with your characters but need a stable enough investment to take more days off, yeah you don't even need to quit your job for this but you will need to exchange for time without pay, and overall just have it so you can make a passion project you otherwise could not make happen, either due to lack of funds to survive, or even lack a sense of incentive due to not having now a risk if not working on said passion and not making it the very best you could.
Then yeah, go for it.

Rather have a place to donate for either a passion and or survival.

I am on disability so the only money I get is a small chunk each month from the government for disability pay, I'm wanting to do this for 3 reasons, one yes I want to be able to have more money for commissions but 2 I also want more money to help out around the house because we've just moved into a new place and the rent is more expensive than our old place, and earning it would make me feel better, and 3 I do have lots of stuff I want to write, big stories and world building for my OC's but I lack incentive right now, and figure that this would potentially give me that incentive to actually buckle down and work on my writing.

Even with only reason 3, I'd say it'd be enough to say yes you should make a Patreon, the others I think are other really good reasons.

Ok, either way I still enjoy your commissioned works, especially your stories! I would just be a little disheartened to watch them go. I would totally understand though.

Oh ok, I would be cool with the stories being early access, but personally not partial to it being exclusive but again, it’s your income and lively hood, so entirely up to you, and understandable.

To be honest I don't really want to make it exclusive, I just worry that if I make it early Access that it will negatively impact the number of potential members
