Thank you, Akira Toriyama.

I'm sure everyone heard by now. I'm still trying to process it. It's just, you know one day, it'll come, but it still hits you like a freight train when it does...
I don't think what I can say hasn't been said already. No words can describe how influential Toriyama and his works are. A lot of things would not be the same or even exist if he wasn't around. I always tuned to Dragon Ball when it aired on Toonami. I admittedly got into the manga very late, but thanks to YouTubers like MistareFusion and their Dragon Ball Dissection series, I learned a lot about how Toriyama approaches things and it made me appreciate the series a whole lot more.
I always knew Dragon Ball was insanely popular, but seeing videos of these massive crowds watching Goku and Jiren fight, cheering their heads off...it was absolutely mind-blowing. Regardless of how you feel about Dragon Ball and Toriyama in general, you cannot deny how much of a legend he is. You just can't.
This hurts, a lot. At least he's not in any pain anymore. Thanks for being a huge part of my childhood, thanks for creating series like Dr. Slump, Dragon Ball, Sand Land, Chrono Trigger, Dragon Quest, Blue Dragon, and many more. Thanks, and take care. You'll be missed. Rest in peace.
