VCL Gallery Backup (Contains NSFW)
Well, what do I have to say...
Hey all!
Since a bit ago VCL (Vixen Controlled Library), one of the oldest furry art sites on the internet, shut down for good I wanted to make a backup of my pictures there.
Sadly the webcrawler used to make a full backup seems to not have captured everything and only one image of my gallery was available.
Luckily the wayback machine DID manage to archive my gallery and the artwork that was in so I went through and downloaded all of it.
Now I put everything in a folder in my public dropbox archive and you can visit or download it at any time.
Just a note though, it contains some art I am no longer "proud of" and it is not sorted in any way, that may be something I do later down the line.

EDIT: Went through it and at least put all the "gore art" into a separate folder.
EDIT 2: Decided to also go to my DeviantArt account to mirror it but it only had 4 pieces of artwork that weren't on VCL so I simply added those to the folder.

Everything looks to be there
That was my gateway into this fandom as a whole, and its truly a time capsule of early furry art pieces from artists that probably aren't around anymore.
Even during its height of use though the interface wasn't great so it does make you appreciate what FA has done. With VCL it was either alphabetical by image title, or by upload date, no commenting, and getting in contact with the artist was hit or miss if they bothered to even put up a valid email address in the wild west days of the internet, and only thirty images per page.
By contrast FA gives a lot more interaction to the community now, but it still hurts that VCL is gone. :(

Und das kurz vor deinem Geburtstag
good thing you saved it ! and one has not to be proud of everything one did , just acknowledge it was a stepping stone to get to today.
