Computer Issues becoming worse
Well, I knew I was having some issues, but looks like they're getting worse.
As i have stated my laptop is dead until I can replace the battery I think... at least I hope that's all it is.
And I already knew my desktop's GPU was starting to fail, it is like 10 generations out of date so it's time for it to be replaced probably. But this morning it took three tries to boot up my desktop. Looks like my boot drive might be failing now too. That pisses me off cause it's a SSD, I have an old WD external I use to store files on that is over 10 years old and still going strong. The boot drive is not even 3 years old.
DAMNIT!!!
If I could afford to I'd just rebuild the PC from scratch, but that's not realistic and way too damn expensive.
Everything I can make in commissions is now going to PC repairs and I'm just hoping it holds together for another month or so.
*sighs* sorry for the rant, just one of those days...

Laptop tend to last less that old tower computer. It's harder to cold them down and they are harder to upgrade.

My laptop worked fine when I went into the hospital originally, then when I came out a year later the battery won’t charge and it won’t stay on for more than 30 seconds. When I buy a laptop I tend to get high end cause I know they’re nearly impossible to upgrade. At least desktops I can replace parts myself and do my own service work

in regards to the ssd did you do regular defrags and scans becuse if so you shortened the life of the ssd though if its an early ssd that can also be the reason as some of the early ones didn't have the best chip quality can also double check If the SSD is a GPT disk, then you need to make sure the EFI/UEFI boot mode is enabled. And you need to get into BIOS Setup to set it to EFI/UEFI boot mode. Otherwise, you cannot boot from the SSD unless it has been converted to MBR disk

Not alot of defrags and scans since it was just the boot drive. Was brand new back in 2020 and was working fine as a boot disk until recently. I'll check those settings next time I'm on it just to be sure.
