Week 4
General
Last week I managed to make my first muscle characters, my first portly characters, and even a crooked character in the alchemist. I have also learned about translucency settings! Which can be seen with the translucent shine on the cleric’s mace.
This week’s challenge is going to be focused on action poses because of a friend’s suggestion. First is the kickboxer in pose that I will play around with and move on from there.
Thank you to those watching, and those who have even just clicked the fave. Knowing the art is being seen and might be bringing someone a smile makes all the difference in keeping me motivated to create.

Action is what REALLY set Star Wars worlds above EVERY other sciFi produced before then... EVERYTHING was in motion and the shots made viewers feel like they were IN the scene. Getting that sort of feel from your own characters , even in small ways, really makes them feel more 'real'.
Big and strong actions need to be coordinated, or they'll look painful and stiff. More subtle things like slouching when relaxed or slightly off-balance when leaning on something require a sort of 'liquidity' in your characters that a LOT of artists struggle with. If you can master this early, it's REALLY Gonna set your work worlds above.
GO FOR IT!
Also, flat-on front or side-only views are HARD to make look natural, so adding perspective into the mix will also make a huge difference.
Hope this helps.
