Oh yes, I remember these quite vividly. I think they played them a lot on Fuse, which I watched constantly at a teenager. It never botherd me much, since I’d had the idea that smoking was bad drilled into me all my life, so it just felt like a reiteration of something that was, in my mind, a proven fact.

I never smoked. I have COPD because both my parents smoked when I was born. I was forced to work with chain-smokers in the 1970s and '80s. I wish my former coworkers were still alive so I could kill them for what they've done to me.

At least you survived. My aunt Dorothy died of lung cancer, although she never smoked, because during the 60s she worked in an office full of people who did.

P.S. After you finish with your former coworkers, be sure to go after the real villains, the ones who got them hooked: the tobacco executives who profit from all the death and disease they cause.

The same thing happened to my Mom's best friend. She never smoked but she contracted Emphysema (one form of COPD) and later died of lung cancer. Same deal: she worked in an office full of smokers. And most smokers insist no one was ever hurt by secondhand smoke.

My next target would be the politicians who take money from the Cancer Barons.

And after them, the source of that money!

My condolences for your loss. Voice actor Roy Conrad (Ben Throttle from LucasArts' FULL THROTTLE) also died at 61 from lung cancer, despite never having smoked.

I remember seeing that ad on its initial run. It certainly got a lot of attention. I also remember seeing news stories about a kid named Sean Marsee who started using smokeless tobacco at age 12. Oral Cancer killed him about 7 years later =0(
