I mean, it's a job where you have to be super physical and ready to meet eu standarts of amazon workers. So each couple hours they sent you a percent on how well you doing your job, which mostly is how much you stowed or picked and how quick you were. Hard to explain it without going into boring details, but each case is sensitive and it's a constant decision making in short period of time. On pick you even have the timer requirement to meet, and it was probably the biggest challenge for a tiny lady not used to physical labor before.

10 - 15 kg packages and MORE THAN 32K STEPS PER DAY!? O_O Man, those videos on Youtube weren't kidding. I don't know how long you lasted, but I'm sure you're glad to be outta there.

I lasted 8 months!
It was generally hard but manageable, however in the last month it started to be super-super harsh. I was barely managing my norm (before i was in 10% best employes, but last few weeks my percent requierements were under 100 often due to many work-related reasons, mostly with struggles of finding free shelves for the goods to put, ultra heavy goods that require nearly whole space empty, etcetera.

30-32k its a norm i did every day mostly. When I was called to pick goods intead of stowing them and run the entire warehouse with a timer up my sleeve, those could go to 35k. Absolute record was 37k and that was one of the most tiring days of my life.

Literally on my last week it's been nothing but heavy stuff and especially the one you can't even take from shelves, but must pick from palettes. One-two item max per tote (black box we putting the goods to go on conveyor belt)

That is CRAZY. I hope it at least kept you fit! I wouldn't mind doing 20k - 30k steps but not if it's part of a job.

Looking at your other reply it looks like they're really keeping it tight on that speed/data. Must be high turnover at that place.

Least you got time for art now! Would like to comm someday but there are way too many artists I like and soooooo little cash lol

I actually work at a Amazon Distribution Station. It has been a life saver for me. I heard the warehouses are way harder tho. So glad to hear you can return to your passion 👍

Amazon's business model is literally designed around an abusive work structure and high turnover. They plan around their non-managerial workforce to last two years at the most. I don't blame you for getting burnt out. I'll be happy to see you working on art against and I hope you find your passion fast.
