Well here I am exactly 6 months after starting my new job and...yeah, it's rough. I don't dislike my job, but it is very hard on me in terms of free time. I only work 4 days per week, but I also live over an hour away from where I work, so I spend an extra 10-12 hours each week commuting. Seems like I have the choice of either having enough time to do the things I want, but no money with which to do them, or having plenty of money, but no time at all. Currently, I'm in the latter situation, hence the recent flurry of commissions while also not getting any writing done. I was hoping that I'd have settled into a routine by now, but I still find it difficult. Pretty much from the moment I go to sleep on Tuesday night until the moment I wake up on Sunday morning, I'm stuck in a cycle of drive, work, drive, sleep, drive, work, drive, sleep. I don't even get on my computer or anything on work days. The three days I have off are where I have to squeeze everything that I want/need to do throughout the entire week. Shopping, housework, doctors' appointments, social/family things, etc. all have to be crammed into a few days. I leave for work at about 12:30 in the afternoon and get home at around 1:30-2:00am, so there's no real room for anything before or after that.
Basically what I'm saying is that I have much money, but little time, so expect more commissions, but writing will be difficult. If I can get some done, I will, but I certainly can't make any promises or plans.
