No Good Deed…
As it seems to happen, good will gets squandered after a time that could bring a community together.
After the very unfortunate death of Furaffinity’s founder, the generosity and good will of the community shown through in a generous gofundme campaign.
And shortly after that the hijacking of the site and the way it was resolved, furries rallied and again came together to defend this site many still call home.
I wish I could say I was surprised to hear about people being banned for so-called submission violations so soon after these major events. I mean, you would think that keeping up the gratitude of your users for a little while longer to at least get some more funding, should it be needed would be a better use of resources.
But no, the banning of an Ursa Major award winning comic creator and disillusioning a large segment of the Furaffinity community, is clearly the best way to repay the generosity.
My initial reaction to Dragoneers passing was that Furaffinity will sadly die with him. I hold out some small hope that I am wrong. But its hard to feel any real optimism. The internet in general seems to be crumbling and giving in to consolidation, sanitized and corporatized and loosing much of what made the old communities special. I liked that FA was a bit of a throwback in that sense.
Not that anyone gives a fuck about what I think.

I hope you are doing well, despite the unfortunate FA business.
