Upload Policy Nonsense
The new revision to the Furaffinity upload policy likely won’t affect anything I would draw and post. But that doesn’t mean I agree with it. I think the changes are more confusing rather than clarifying. In fact, it seems even more insulting, really.
Sounds to me FA is not so much censoring content as trying to censor thoughts. Which is the worst kind of censorship in my opinion.
Because there "was not a good consensus on where the line is because the content matter is too subjective and open to interpretation" (which is kinda the whole point to art, being open to interpretation, isn’t it?), art of a minor in soiled diapers, even if the art itself doesn't contain anything sexual or explicit, because someone MIGHT interpret it as sexual, or if we suspect there was INTENT on the artists part, because of other art they've made; that is now prohibited.
Rather than take the context or the merit of the image itself into consideration; since we can't be sure what someone's thoughts are when viewing an image, they choose to ban all instances because someone might get turned on by it.
Based on the new policy as written, most picture books you can buy on Amazon on the topic of potty training would have imagery that now violate the rules. i.e. "Minors may not be depicted relieving themselves or in content focused on them using the restroom."
Illustrations in this book would very likely not be permitted.

When a picture book for children would violate the upload policy on Furaffinity, it seems like maybe the rules were adopted in a rushed and myopic manner.
Ideally, in the six months grace period that has been granted, the affected community members should try to work with the FA staff, both to come to a better consensus. Though the damage is likely already done.
For my part, I believe censorship based on anything but the content itself is unacceptable. Not the mind of the artist or viewer. The work itself. It’s “Parental Advisory “ labels on music in the past on songs with lyrics that might influence kids to hooliganism. The violent video games that might cause someone to shoot up a school. You can’t censor everything because some unhinged individual might do something nefarious if they see it.
‘You can’t put a bag over someone’s mind.”
Should anyone read this, or care about my dumb opinion,
I disagree with FA’s recent decision. I’ll somehow hope there is still time to make things right.

...like, we've had the internet long enough to know people will get turned on by toasters.
Well, can always hold out hope things will get a bit more sensible, but it's a slim hope.
