Joined the Palworld bandwagon.

Might as well before Nintendo tries to ruin it for everyone. Got a copy for my PS5 the other day and was quite surprised to find out it is more of a survival carfting game like ARK more than a Poke'mon imitator.
I always wanted to try out a survival style game. Never did like Minecraft much and multi-player ones were always too hard or competitive for me. No Man's Sky bored me to sleep and Subnautica scared the crap out of me. Wasn't happy with 7 Days to Die and other imitators couldn't hook me in
But I bought and installed Palworld last night and after taking care of my dad. Just a bit past midnight and I thought I was gonna stop after making a base camp at least. 7 hours later, I'm busy trying to kill this giant lvl 35 plant mammoth after watching it fight another one to the death and it had a tiny little sliver of health left. Thought I could get an easy kill on it. I used up all 200 of my arrows, get my team wiped, ruined the durability of my armor and weapons, left with just a spear and trying to circle it and poke it in the butt, only to fall off the mountain we were battling on and drown. At least I did collect lots of materials from all the trees, rocks, and stray Pals that got wiped in it's AOE attacks.
Decided to call it quits when I saw the sun creeping through the window. I haven't done something like that in years. Tried to get at least 4 hours of sleep, kept thinking of the game and how I can't wait to get back into it. Decided to buy a copy on Steam as well just in case the power gets knocked out during Milton, I can still play it while we wait for the power to come on.
So, is anyone else wanting to try the game that has Nintendo scared enough to use lawyers? Or if you already played it, what do you think of it?

FA+

Did the same with Skyrim. Stayed near the first settlement or castle. Just crafted stuff and sold it all to make myself over powered and rich as heck. Barely interacted with the world.
I hope I can get more done this next play through. Thankfully my Steamdeck plays better than my Playstation.
There is a fan made game that overlays the original and is based in London, I haven't played it yet, too busy clearing the problems I already have. Of course i only play female characters no matter the game, my writing proves which way I lean. My wife finds that amusing, no I am not gay/bi, I just know what I am going to be reincarnated as.... A female mouse in a space setting.
frozen in time' quest, that kid is a killer.
Give me a good, traditional game of chess.
Just gives 10% damage against males and alters some dialog with certain characters.
There is a similar perk called Lady Killer where it does the same for guys against females.
Personally one day I wanna play a game where the crazy stuff happens.
Not one for chess, I prefer Risk. ^_^
RISK is just a game of dice.
But unlike Monopoly I loved playing the other versions of Risk. There was a futuristic one that had mech units, underwater cities and I think even the moon as territories. I really wanna try this one that looks like a post apocalyptic setting. Really wanted to try out the Star Wars one but it looked too different to me, almost like a totally different game.
Can't seem to find it anymore but there was a digital version where it took place in a semi futuristic setting with hero units and another where instead of countries and continents you had to control parts of a city.
Wish I could play someone online. I hate getting cheated by the AI in some games.
Hell... I even have the original Star Fleet Battles game, all three 'pamphlets.'
I used to play a lot of table top, Champions and such wayyyy back in the 80's. Had friends come over every Friday night, they would drag out sometime Sunday evening. Ah, those were the days. When we moved to San Antonio I stumbled over a little gaming shop named Toss of the Dice. When the owner was run over while biking to college (Bicycle, not motorbike) that all ended. Now it is a few, very few computer games or my writing, nothing else.
Can you imagine a 73 year old man standing in front of some teenagers doorway trying to explain to the parents 'No, I'm not a pedophile though my father was. I've just come over to play D&D.'
Nope, neither can I.
Bought a starter set where they replaced the card board cut outs with plastic figurines. Never got to play with it much.
Now that they restarted it again under CGL I got lots of units including some Clan mechs. Still need to paint them one day.
Ditto goes with painting my DnD figurines too. Still working on my world via Worldanvil, trying to figure out how to set up a Virtual Tabletop on my laptop. Still prefer to roll physical dice over digital.
Got a subscription with MistyMountain for a monthly dice bag with 2 sets each. ^_^
I enjoy it. Survival Crafting is something I enjoy so I loved the base building, the automation set ups. And just wandering about looking for interesting things. Games got a number of mechanics to explore, and lot of grinding to manage some of them.
But I enjoy it. Lots of fun with others. But also was a good solo experience.
One of the games best features is the shared inventory in base. Any box... in base.. can be pulled from when using the various work benches or other crafting items. So to speed up things. Place containers near things that produce. If it's in base range. You can auto pull for stuff. No need to carry materials on you when crafting.
Couple storage near your gardens. Or Mines, or Wood farms or whatever. Will speed up things when moving materials into storage. Reducing their travel time. But you set up your crafting elsewhere and still access materials.
Unfortunately, it crashes when I try to load up the character creator.
Apparently my WINDOWS 11 can't process it.
I'm just curious about the early access state of the game. I've never known Sony releasing an unfinished game...not counting Concord, the latest dumpster fires from Ubisoft, etc.
